Boaaav, August 15.
By accounts from Ambs, dated ths 1st August,
we have the satisfaction of receiving the particu
lars of a dishing and gallant affair performed by
lieutenant Sutherland, commanding a Rasalah of
hit highness the Nizam’s reformed horse, in the
taking prisoners of Durmajee and l>is brother.
From intelligence received during the night of
•tie 30th July, lieutenant Sutherland was induced
to alter the direction of his march on Dyton to
Djhy, which latter place he reached a little after
day-break, and he immediately surrounded it with
a few men who had come up for some miles at
a gallop.
The place was subsequt ntly more closely in
veiled and preparations were made in the after
noon for an eacalade. Eighty mounted men were
formed into eight parties, and so placed ut to
prevent escape. Thirty nuteclnckmtn were
posted on • lull which overlooked the village,
ami the remainder were formed into two storm
ing psrtiea. The one headed by lieutenant Su
therland anil the other under 1st Jemider Sha-
leeklian. On a signal given to tbe hill and re
peated to Shadrckhan, the parties advanced to
the storm, tin the approach of the party under
lieutenant Sutherland, (he garrison threw untn
the gate and stood bravely to defend it *wnnd in
hand. Shadvkiiiw l«d an hit party with a cool
ness and determination which would have cun-
