Carious trial— It appears by the Bos
ton papers, that the U S. Circuit Court,
had been occupied for two days, in trying
an action of slander, brought by ti S, YV lute,
an Episcopal Cleigyman, against George
Brinley—for dclaniation. Brinlcy, it is al
leged, charged the said White with having
challenged him to fight a duel—a charge
of manifest detriment to his professional
character. The defence set up is said to
be a justification, by establishing the truth
of the facts.
