stores, And shall be beat with the utmost care and
economy, and the barrels will be always delivered
in good order. Empty barrels, made of prime
boated staves, will be furnished at the mill when
required. The terms of cleaning Rice will be the
-me as at the othor toll-mills. Those- planters
who will engage to have their crops beat at this
mill, and keep her supplied, will have 200 tier,

An Ordinance,

Whereas great injury may arise .to the -naviga
tion of thW rivpr, from the frequent practice of
vciisCiiiij* quantities of sand from the top of the
JII-ifF, and in nrder to prevent the working down
-it iuifarttities of Sand into tlie river, thereby injur-
ingthe wharvea.
Be it therefoie ordained by the Mayor and Al
dermen in council assembled, and it is hereby or-
daihed by the authority of the same, that it shall
bbt be lawful for any person pr persons, whatso
ever t6 remove any ssUid from the bank of said
b|uff, for the purposes of mixing with time or to
fill UP any place, except it be from below said
biuna pari or parts of white sand for the purpose
of sanding (he fi >ot of any houtie. or houses, and
for ho other purpose whatsoever.
Sec. 2. And be it further ordained by the au
thority aforesaid, That it shall be 'he duty of the
Marshal Or eity Constables to prevent all persons
whatsoever from violating this ordinance anil o
lay'information to council against all uud every
violation (hefreof
Sed. 8. Be it further ordained by the authoriti
