T HE Brigadier General bas heard witti regret,
that in the execution ot a late Brigade order
directing patrol duty to be vigilantly performed
fora certain time, that much irregularity, and im
propriety of conduct, hud been manifested, and
some outrages committed in the county of Liber
ty, not contemplated by the order, or authorized
by law, or tbe occasion.
It is therefore ordered that the commanding of
ficer oi the 2nd Regiment do forthwith make dili
gent enquiry, as to the facts alledged to have been
committed, and furnish the necessary information,
to tbe civil authority, in order that tbe offenders
may be dealt with -according to law. '

I N answer to L. H. Uonnel’s piece, which ap
peared in this paper, under date 31at ult —I
have to remark, that hia statement ia false and er
roneous, in aa much, that I was n*-ver raked toiell
out, or make any assignment of property belong
ing to me—neither was I asked to dissolve our
connection in partnership, which was to be con
tinued for three years from 3d Oct. 1822, 'under
bonds—and this Co-partnership has never been
revoked. The assignment he alludes to in his
K iece, I know nothing about. The state of my
ealth was such for many weeks before I left
here for the north, to unable me to perform any
transaction in business 1 therefore protest a
gainst L. II. Bonne[ having any right to setttle any
account of the firm without my consent

slander—should-he do so, I should recommend
him to do it in a Magistrates Court, as I believe
