>"RHE Toll mill on Mrs. Ancrum’s plantation
has bet n completely repaired lately, and is

the river. The rough rice that will be sent 1,1

{ conomy, and the barrels will be always delivered

An Ordinance,
E NTITLED nn or dnance to prevent as much
as possible the removal of any psrt of the
".-irof:>icity.
Whereas great injury may arise to the naviga
tion of this river. From the frequent practice of
i emnving quantities of sand from the top of the
Bluff, and in order to prevent the working down
•if quantities of sand into tbe river, thereby injur
ing the wharves
Be it therefore ordained by the Mayor and Al
dermen in council assembled, nnd’u is hereby or-
duined by the authority of the same, that it shall
not be lawful for any person or persons, whatso
ever to remove any sand-from the bank of said
bluffi for the purposes of mixing with lime or to
fill up any place, except it be from below said
bluff a par* or parts ot - white sand for the purpos:
of sanding the flnot of any house or houses, and
ibr no other purpose whatsoever.
Sec. 8. And be it further ordained by the au
fooyity aforesaid, That ifi^all be the*duty of tiu
ytarshul or city Constables to prevent all persons
whatsoever from violating this ordinance and o
lay information to council against all and every
violation thereof-
Sec. 3, Be it further ordained by the authority
aforesaid. That any person or persons violating
this ordinance, on conviction thereof, shall be fined
in si sum not’exceeding thirty dollars.
Sec. 4. And be it further ordained. That all
ordinances or parts of ordinances militating against
this ordinance be and the same is hereby repeal
ed.

of Jnne 1822, acknowledged himself to beheld,
and firmly bound and obliged in him in the penal
sum of eight hundred dollars, conditioned fur the*
payment of the sum of four hundred dollars on
or before the firat day of June 1823,- and th-.it foci

said sum of money, the said Thomas R. Broom ,
by his certain deed of mortgage hearing evert,
date with the said bond, had mortgaged to him
all that lot - or parcel of land in Chatham county ’
