Whereas great injury may arise to the naviga 1
tion of this river, from -the frequent practice of
removing quantities of sand from the top of the
Itluff, and in order to prevent the working down
of quantitierof sand into the river, thereby injur

dained by the authority of the same, that it shall
not be lawful for any person or persons, whatso
ever to remove any sand'from tne bank of said

Sec. 3. Be it further ordained by the authority

Sec. 4. And be it lurther ordained, That all
ordinances or parts of oi (finances militating against
this ordinance be and the same'is hereby repeal

TTPON the petition of Susan N. Niemeewiez,
praying tne foreclosure of the equity of re
demption of and in all that tract orparceiof land,
situate on the little Ogeeche river in Chatham
county, contain two hundred and seventy acres,
adjoining lands of William Shuthers, now Rose's
to the West, to the . ast and south, lands of Francis
H. Macieoil, Spencer and Wilson, and tothc
north a c.eek known as the south branch of the
little Ogeechee, together with the improvements
thereon, to secure the payment of six several
bonds, executed by the said John Habersham! in
his lifetime, together with one Francis H. Mac-
Ieod,«nd bearing date on the lith March, 1819,
and stating that there is now due on the said
bonds, the sum of AT,350 bf principal, with in#
terest from the 15th March, 1817.
On motion of Richard W. Habersham* attor
ney for th Petitioner—It is ordered, that the
principal interest and cost, due oh said mort
gage, be paid into court Within twejve months
trom this date, or tiiat otherwise the equity of
redemption in the said mortgaged premises be
foreclosed from thenceforth, and that aucli fur
ther and other proceedings take place, as arc 4 in
pursuance of tne statute of Georgia in such case
made and provided.
And H is lurther ordered, that this role be
g ublished in one of the Gazettes bf the city of
avannah, at least once a month for twelve
months, or served on the legal representatives
of the said John Habersham, at least six months
previous to tin return of this rule.

O N the petition of William T. Williams stat
ing that Thomas R, Broom, by his certain
writing oblii-alory, bearing date on the sixth day
of June 1822, acknowledged himself to be la |<|
and firmly bound and obliged in him in the penal
sum of eight hundred dollars, conditioned for the
payment of the sum of four hundred dollars ,>n
or before the first day of .June 1823, and tint for
the better securing to him thel payment ol the
said sum of money, the said Then. :. R. Broom
by Ilia certain deed of mortgage bearing even
date with the said bond, had mortgaged to him
all that lot or parcel of land in Chatham county
and state aforesaid, Known in the plan of the said
count) as Garden lot number eighty, (80) east,
containing eleven antj one half, acres more or
less, bounded on t|ie north. by the Thunderbplt
road and lands bf James Bilbo, on the south by
lands of John Screven, and on the west by a
road leadi- g to muds of col. James’Johnson and
others—and further stating tkkt there is now due
slid unpaid on the said bond ami mortgage he

from this date, or otherwise that the equity of res
demption of the said Thomas R. Broom in the
