WtunsAs it is desirable to ascertain the wish,
es of the citiaens of this state, as to the mode of
choosing Electors of President and Vice Presi
dent of the United States;
Be it therefore retained by the Senate anil Route
of Bepretentntivet of the State«if Georgia in Gene
ral Assembly met, That it ahal) be the duty of the
Magistrates who shall preside at the several Elec
imnato be held in die different counties of this
.State for the choice of members of the Legisla
ture, at the neat General Election therein, to
propose to each and every voter at the time of
receiving his vote, whether he desires that the
choice of said Electors shall be confided to the
people or retained by the Legislature, and to re
Quest such voter to signify such desire by en
dorsing on his ticket, the word People or Legit la
ture, according to the truth of the fact; and on
counting out tne ballots, to annex to the return
of the said election by them so transmitted to the
Executive Department, a true statement of Un
votes so given, to the end that the same may be
laid before the next Legislature by bia Excellen
cy the Governor.
And be it further resolved, That his Excellency
the Governor be, and he is hereby requested to
cause this resolution to be published without de
lay, in the fevcral Gazettes of this State, and to
continue the said publication once a month, unti
the next General Election.

T HE House of the subscriber on the Augusta
Road, known us the 16 mile house, was last
evening shout 11 o’clock clandestingly entered
