royal order of the 5th of June last; that no foreign ves
sels shall be ..dmitted into the pnrtsofihis island,unless

places fiMin whicii they come. The term of four months
js allowed, dial notice of this regulation may be given in
the United Slates, and other foreign countries in America,
and die term of eight months is -allowed for a like object
as to the countries in Europe—it being understood that
at the termination thereof the saidp - ecautionary measure

The United States’ -agents, appointed to survey the
several rivers emptying into the Chesapeake, for the pur
pose of ascertaining the. most eligible spot for-a Naval
Depot, nave completed their labor, land itis understood,
thatGosport has been fixed on as possessing superiorad-
vautages to any other site in that quarter of the country.
