A well settled COTTON PLANTATION, shsated 5
miles from Savannah, in the village of Acton, district of
Wliite Bluff, containing 665 acres, 550 of which, is ae
prime cotton land as any in Chatham county—the residue
is weU timbered land, and an indispeiuible appendage to
the plantation, for the purpoae of rails and other neces
sary lumber. Of the 550 acres, about350 are surrounded
by a substantial fence, and 260under cultivation tht pre
sent year.
A great deal of labor, such as ditching, clear
wood, and grubbing, has been done upon the ]
lion, and it is now in such condition (most of t’
not having been cultivated but two years) as I
out a (air prospect of permanent profit to the pui .
The buildings consist of a neat little mansion, with
proper out houses; a large barn, a large gin-houae, tea
negro bouses of two tenements each, all built of the best
scantling boards, and cypress ihingles, with brick chim-
nies and under pinning.
On the premises is a well of remarkably tweet water.
With, vi without, the plantation, will be sold a gang '
of as prime Negroes, consisting of 125, as are to bo
found perhaps in the state.
In the number of 75 grown people, there are two
carpenters, one cooper, and a seamstress—the rest very
sensible prime people. The children, am6ng wholly
there a number of fine boys and girls, are generally very
likely. It is worthy of remark as substantiating thy?
healthiness of the plantation, that in three years not one
grown person, and only four children, have died.
The property can be’examined at any time—hnd term*
