The operations of speculators are supposed to have been mainly influenced by the accounts from tbe United Stalesotlhe backwardness of the coining crop, and the prevalence in some districts of unfavor able weather for it. The import into Liverpool since tbe 1st January is 1,231,000 bales, against 925,000 in the first nine months of last season—in the supply fiom tbe United States the increase is 344,000 bales.
