ELLIS' COMPOUND
Krcosotc Tooth Wash.
llccommindul by the Faculty. _
T HIS compound will bo found serviceable iu
arresting nnd preventing decay in teeth;
keeping tho teeth nnd gums in u healthy nnd clean
condition ; sweetening the breath; remeving tar
tar. und relieving pain caused by carious teeth.
Few discoveries in modem cbomistry promiso
more important results than that of Kreosote, by
Dr. Reiclionbnch, an eminent chemist of Blnns-
ko, in Monrovia. It is a highly rectified liquid
product, obtained from wood, nnd isannlogous to
charcoal in its antiseptic properties, but far more
powerful as a correcUvo nnd preventive of de
my. Charcoal, notwithstanding its well known
cleansing properties, is objectionable as a denti-
frico, on account of its insolubility, nud tlio risk
of minute particles remaining between tho teeth
und producing injury. Kreosote, on the contra
ry, cannot be liable to this objection, and posses
ses. to a much greater extent, the antiseptic and
purifying properties of Uie former. Tlio trials
which have boon nrndo with it, in Uiis country
and Europe have proved its efficacy.
It is strongly recommended by U10 Faculty ns
the best preventive against caries in teeth. To
sweetcu tlio breath, rendered offensive by decay
ed teedi, the use of tobacco, or other causes, and
to arrest decay itself, it stands pre-eminent.
Ellis's compound Krcosplo Tooth Wash, com
bines the virtues of Kreosote, of fee strength
adapted for this purpose, with oUter substances
known to bo highly advantageous in whitening
and preserving the tenth. ''
IttSfoonfideiitly recommended to uie public ns
a valuable compouud. which may be used daily
with great adynntagp to the teeth and gums, at the
samo tirno leaving an agreeable sensation in the
month. There is no acid in this wash, nor any
ingredients entering into its composition, but
such as are highly beneficial to tho teeth.
It has been examiner} and used hy several of
tho first physicians of this city, who have no hp”
tntion in recommending il o* on excellent wt
for the teeth and gums, preventing the latter from
hcooif ing spungy, and, by its detergent and au-
tisuptic qualities, preserving both in a clean nnd
healthy condition. Forsalehy
