Extract from the Ordinance. M. MYERS, c. c. * See resolution published in die Republican, 24th Oct. inst. oct 30 Rofrund’s Tonic Mixture, or Vegetable Febrifuge, A specific and lasting cure for Fever and Ague. mtlJS worthy remedy earnestly repels the slur J- of lining u quack mediciife, it having been tiia result of many yuars study, experience and labor, in the medical practice and observation of Fever nnd Ague. It is composed of such medi cinal principles ns were considered most fit to re store tlie Imrniony ofnetionbetween tlio stoumch, liver, and the other important functions of die systeiu.tlie loss of which linrmAtfy is evidently the immediate cause of the disease. It speedily pro- moots n regular and healthy appetite which is generally entirely destroyed ‘or rendered very precarious; by which effect, VigVir nnd strength is soon afforded to the whole system. Ii must be apparent to all. that a medicine ^/assessing these peculiar virtues, is useful in a great variety of complaint*. Dy renewing the healthy action of the digestive organs, it bus proved itself of re markable benefit in dyspepsia, depraved appetite, heart-burn, water brush, flatulency, jaundice, night aweuts, dysentery, howol complaints, nnd all dthter affections of similar origin, but it is in the treatment of Fevers, nnd especially in Fever and Ague, or Remittont Fever, that its powers haVe been principally texted, and with those who liaVe seen its usefulness, it is pronounced sover eign to oil remedies herelolnrt) discovered fo these diseases. It lias also been lised as a pro v'Antive, by many who were subject to a periodi cal recurrence of the chills and feVer, and it has always warded off the apprehenatod attack. It was deemed not improper to oBcompany the vegetable febrifuge with a few of tho many une quivocal certificates politely furtrished'fcMhVpro- nrietor, corroborative ofthe foregoing statements. For furthor accounts of its great usefulness, see pamphlets accompanying each bottle. A fresh supply of the above valuabre medicine just received, and for sale bv G. It. Just received, Jayiie’s Hair Tonic—Hair. T HERE is nothing like a good bond of hair to act off u mun'* pate. A* the poet says— "—’Tis the robe which curious nature weaves To hmijr upon the head, and docs adorn Our bodies.” Tn be sure a Imld head is becoming edeugh in a judge, or n minister, for itlouks grave end ven erable, nud tho' it may nut be nu unerring evi dence of windom, yet it is a decisive proof tlmt tliu individual ia not hair brained.—Yollng por tion*, especially young beaus aud belles, are rath er uverse tb u premature disrobeiuent oftheir roofs; und ho who offers a remedy to preserve thut important ornament must he looked upon in the light df a benefactor. Aud such a one is Dr. Jayne, whhse liuir tonic hasdoue wonders inenux ing the hair nut on barren spots, und preventing its falling off. There is no nuuckorv about this article.' We hnvo seen evidence of its efficacy. A gentleman who has been bald fur a number of years, by the use of this tonic, lias got quite a ’flourishing growth on the !ate waste place. There whose liuir, like false friends, is leaving them, will find this an excellent preventive. To young bucks who ucpiro to bushy whisker*, this lonin must be iuvaluublu—and to young Indies'wbb would preserve their glowy ringlets, it mustbb tho great desideratum.—Portland Transcript.
