It is a highly rectified liquid i It is useful for a product, obtained from w uod, avid is analogous to Ghnd*. and will charcoal in it* antiseptic properties, but far more powerful as a corrective and preventive of do- cay. Charcoal, notwithstanding it* well known cleansing properties, is objectionable as a denti frice, on uccouut of its insolubility, and the ri»k of minute particle* remaining between the teeth nnd producing injury. Kreosote, on tho contra ry. cannot be liable to this objection, and posses ses, to a much greater extent, tho nntUpptic and pnlifting properties of tho former. The trials which have been made with it. in this conulry and Europe have proved it* efficacy. It is strongly recommended hy tho Faculty ns the best preventive against caries in teeth. To sweeten the breath, rendered oltensivo by decay ed teeth, the use of tobacco, or other causes, and to arrest decay itself, it stands pre-eminent. Ellis's compouutl Kreosote Tooth IVush, com bines tho virtues of Kreosote, of lire strength adapted for this purpose, with oiln-t substances known to be highly advantageous in whitening and presen’itig the tcolii. It Is confidently recommended to tire public as a vnlm&Io compound, which limy bo used daily with greqt advantage to the teeth and gums, at the same time leaving an agreeable sensation in tho mouth. It immediately removes Pimples, and other Eruptions: is exceedingly useful for Bore Breasts, particularly in lying-in. It* efficacy iu this very trying care, when ail other applications have fail- eil, has been well proved, and can be attested by many. It is useful for Cancers before they are broken, and an iiiilailing remedy for the Piles. It gives a delicacy of fragrance and that natural healthful appearance to tho skin no other prepare ntion oftlie kind has ever been known to produce.
