A Certain Cure for Sick Heart-
Ache,
W HICH has been tised in families, every
member of which has had sick headache
from infancy,as a constitutional family complaint,
and has cured effectually in every instance yet
knowu, amounting to many hundreds. It is uot
unpleasant to the taste r and does not prevent Uie
daily avocations of one using it: ft must be perse
vered in, aud the cure is gradual, but certain and
permanent. Instance* are constancy multiply
ing where this distressing complaint w complete
lyrelieved and cared, although of year* standing,
by the use of Dr. Spohu’s celebrated remedy.
One decided preference is its pleasantness, har
ing none of the nauseating effects of common
drugs.
In all dyspeptic symtoms, cosUveness, irregu
larity, distress after meals, pains in the side and
torpidity of the Kver, the cure is perfect, end any
one so afflicted Will become immediately convin
ced on using it, that he has at Inst found n ‘‘sover
eign balm for his wounds.” Females are particu
larly recommended to use it for costiveness or ir
regularity, and oUier female complaints. It is
proved to correct vitiated aud disordered humors
keeping the stomach in most perfect order. Those
persons who after qn evening* indulgence at par
ties, &c. have headache and dullness the next
day, will fluid this a sure preventive if taken at
beil time. ’»For all common complaints, in a few
days its virtue* will be self-evident, end a complete
cure will Jbon be effected. When a person bus
a cold aniffeols unwell, generally a free nsc of it
fora few days will be suro to, relieve wiUiout
physic of pills. To children it. may be given with
the greatest advantage.
In all acidity or sourness of stomach this remedy
is sovereign and invaluable; a* u general family,

ELLIS’ COMPOUND
Kreosote Too ill Wash.
Recommended by the Faculty.
T HIS compound will be found serviceable in
arresting and preventing decay in teeth ;
keeping thn teeth and gum* iu a healthy and clean
condition ; sweetening the breath; removing tar
tar, and relieving pain c.tnsed hy carious teeth.
Few discoveries in modern chemistry promise
more important results than thnt of Kreosote, by
Dr. lteichuiibnch, an eminent chemist of Blaus-
ko, in Monrovia. It is a highly rectified liquid
product, obtained from wood, aud i* analogous to
charcoal in its antiseptic properties, but fur more
powerful as a corrective and preventive of de
cay. Charcoal, notwithstanding its well known
cleansing properties, is objectionable as a denti
frice, on account of its insolubility, and the risk
of minute particle* remaining between the teeth
and producing injury. Kreosote, on tbe contra
ry, cannot he liable to this objection, and posses
ses, to n much greater extent, the antiseptic and
purifying properties of the former. The trial*
which have been, made with it, in this, country
and Europe have proved its efficacy.
It is strongly recommended by the Faculty as
the best preventive against caries in teeth. To
sweeten the breath, rendered offensive by dnet* -
ed teeih, the nse of tobacco, or other causes, and
to arrest decay itself, it stands pre-eminent.
Ellis's compound Kreosote Tooth IVash, com
bines tiro virtues of Kreosote, of tbe strength
adapted for this purpose, with other substances
known to bo highly advantageous in whitening
aud preserving the teeth.
It is confidently recommended to the publicos
a vuluable compound, which umy be used daily
with great advantage to the teeth nnd gums, at the
same time leaving an agreeable sensation in the
mouth. There is no acid in this wash, nor any
ingredients entering into its composition, but
such as are highly beneficial to the teeth.
It has been exainiued and used hy several of
tho first Physicians of tliis city, who have no best
tation in recommending it n’s an excellent wash
for the teeth and gums, preventing thn laitqr from
bccon ing spungy, and, by its detergent nnd an
tiseptic qualities, preserving both ina clean and

T HESE Bitters are composed of vegetables
of Uie most innocent, yet specific virtues,
and have been highly extolled by thousands who
have experienced Uieir efficacy m the above nam

machic and corrective the vegetable kingdom fur

against fever, and are very serviceable at all *cn>

greeahle listtessuess and relaxation or the sustain.
They strengthen the stomach, procure a good ap

groggy preparations, sold nt a high price, and
bought mainly for their intoxicating properties.
These Bitters are superior to any that are, or
ever havo been offered to the public. Being
pungenlly aromatic, they are particularly recom
mended to seufaring persons as ait antidote a-
gainst the Scurvy. Persons laboring under the
infirmities of old age,, will find these Bitters to
prove a wholesome, agreeable and invigorating
stomachic cordial, increasing the appetite and as

A specific nnu lasting euro for Fever and Ague.
millS worthy remedy earnestly repels Uie slur
JL ofheing a quack medicine, it having been
the result of many years study, experience und
labor, in the medical practice and observation of
Fever and Ague. It is composed of such medi
cinal principles as were considered most fit to re
store thehariuony ofnetion between the stomnch,
liver, and the other important fonctions of tho
systein.Uie loss of which nnrmony is evidently the
immediate cause of the disease. It spcedily’pro-
motes n regular and healtiiy appetite which is
generally entirely destroyed or rendered very
precarious; by which effect, vigor nnd strength is
soon afforded to the whole system. It must be
apparent to all, that a medicine possessing these
peculiar virtue*, is useful in a great Variety of
complaints. By renewing the healthy action of
the digestive organs, it hus proved itself of re
markable benefit iu dyspepsia, depraved appetit^
heart-burn, water brush, flatulency, jaundice,
night sweats, dysentery, bowel complaints, and
another affections of similar origin, but it is in
Uie trentmunt of Fevers, and especially in Fever
aud Ague, or Remittent Fever, that its powers
have been principally tested,^nnd with those who
have seen its usefulness, it is pronounced sover
eign to all remedies heretofore discovered fo
Uiosc diseases. It has also been used as a pro
ventive, by many who were subject to a periodi

Iliintun Hair.
T HE diseases of the hair among us are those
which occasiou baldness nnd gradual fulling
off of the: hair, nnd thinness of it—-the cause* of
which nrise from many disorders, especially fe
vers; perspiration, which extends the pores, re
laxes the roots, causes Uie hair to fnll off, aud of
ten occasions total baldness. Baldness tins ever
been esteemed a great defact. It generally arises
through violent exercise, from whence arise per
spirations, which too frequently occnsion a loss
oftho hair—it relaxes tho roots—the acidity pre
vents the fluid acting on the hair, which occasions
it to waste. For instance, after a violent perspi-
ration the hair becomes dry, it feels extremely
harsh, and no elasticity in it whatever; Uierefore,
te prevent its taking an effect on tho hair, first
rub Uie hairdry with n cloth, then apply Uie Cos-
snda Oil to the roots of tbe hair, so ihat tho skin
of the head mny be moistened, and remain so af
ter eacb time of perspiration.
