T HIS compound will be found serviceable in arresting and preventing decay in teeth; keeping the teeth and gums in a healthy and clean condition ; sweetening die breath; removing tar tar. and relieving pain caused by carinns teeth. Few discoveries in modern chemistry promise more important results than tlmt of Kreosote, hy Dr. Reicnenhach, on eminent chemist of Blnns- ko. in Monrovia. It is a highly rectified liquid product, obtained from wood, and is analogous to charcoal in it* antiseptic properties, but l»r more powerful ns a corrective and preventive of de cay. Charcoal, notwithstanding its well known cleansing properties, is objectionable ns n denti frice, on account of it* insolubility, and the risk of minute particle* remaining between tho teeth and producing injury. Kreosote, on the contra ry, cannot be liable to this objection, and posses ses, ton much greater extent, the «nti**ntic and purifting properties of the former. The trial* wliicfi have been made with it. in tiii* country and Europe have proved its efficacy. It U strongly recommended by tho Faculty ns the best preventive again*! caries in teeth. To sweeten the breath, rendered offensive hy decay ed teeth, the use of tobacco, or other enusns, and to arrest decay itself, it stands pre-eminent. FUis's compound Kreosote Tuath Hash, com bine* the virtues of Kreo«ote, of the strengdi adapted for this purpose, with other substance* known to he highly advantageous in whitening and preserving the teeth.
