T HE diseases of the hair among us are those which occasion baldness and gradual falling off of thei hair, and thinness of it—-the causes of which arise from many disorders, especially fe vers; perspiration, which extends the pores, re- taxes the roots, causes the hair to fall off, and of ten occasions total baldness. Baldness hns ever been esteemed a great defect. Itgenerally arises through violent exercise, from whence arise per- Bpirntioiis, which too frequently occnsion a loss ofthe hair—it relaxes tiie roots—the acidity pre vents the fluid acting on tho hair, which occasions it to waste. For instance, after a violent perspi- ration the hnir becomes dry, it feels extremely harsh, nnd no elasticity in it whatever; therefore, to prevent its taking nn effect on tho hair, first mb the huirdry with a cloth, then apply tho Ca* snda Oil to tiie roots of the hair, so that the skin of the head may be moistened, and remain so af ter each timo of perspiration. Rovnnd's Toalc mixture, or Vcaetable Febriftige, A specific and lasting cure for Fever and Ague. V | *HI8 worthy remedy earnestly repels tho slur u of li—i* 1 - fi nn.nl. I.in.lln!.1 L. of being a quack medicine, it having been tiie result of many years study, experience and labor, in the medical practice ami observation of Fever and Ague. It is composed of such medi- cinal principles as wore considered most fit to re store the harmony ofaction between the stomach, liver, and the other important functions of the impr system, the loss of which narmony is evidently the immediate cause of the disease. It speedily'pro- motes a regular nnd healthy appetite which is generally entirely destroyed or rendered very precarious; by which effect, vigor and strength is soon afforded to tiie whole system. It must be apparent to oil. that a medicine possessing these peculiar virtues, is useful in a great variety of complaints. By renewing the healthy action of the digestive organs, it hns proved itself of re markable benefit in dyspepsia, depraved nppntite, heart-hum, water brash, flatulency, jaundice, night sweats, dysentery, bowel complaints,* and all other affections of similar origin, but it is in the treatment of Fevers, and especially in Favor and Ague, or Remittent Fever, that its powers have been principally tested, and with those who have seen ft* usefulness, it is pronounced sover eign to all remedies heretofore discovered fo those diseases. It has also been used as a pro ventive, by many who were subject to a periodi cal recurrence of the chills and fever, und it has always warded off the apprehended attack. Il was deemed not improper to accompany the vegetable febrifuge with a few of tho many une quivocal certificates politely furnished to the pro prietor, corroborative ofthe foregoing statements.
