of minute particles remaining between tho teeth

T HE Copavia Balm is, of nil the medicines
employed in combating the chronical and

which has never been doubted, und to which

Dr. Lummus' Aromatic Vege
table Hitters,
For Jaundice, Indigestion, Weak Stomach, Arc.
T HESE Bitters are composed ofvegetablcs
of the most innocent, yet specific virtues,
and have been highly extolled by thousands who
have experienced their efficacy m the above nam
ed complaints. They are in fact foe best sto
machic and corrective the vegetable kingdom fur
nishes. They are highly useful as a preventive
against fever, and are very serviceable at all sea
sons of the year, more particularly in the spring
and summer months, when persons of bilious
habits experience that total loss of appetite, disa
jtreeahle listlessness and relaxation offoe system.
They strengthen foe stomach, procure a good up-
petite, promote digestion, purify the blood, nnd
restore foe invalid to his original strength and
vigor. Most of the Bitters with which foe mar
ket is now supplied are nothing more thau cheap
froggy preparations, sold at a high price, nnd
joushv mainly for their intoxicating properties.
These Bitters are superior tn any that are, or
ever have been offered to foe public. Being
punpcnlly aromatic, they are particularly recom
mended to seafaring persons as an antidote a-
tainst the Scurvy. Persons laboring under the
nfirmitiesof old age, will find these Bitters to
prove a wholesome, agreeable and invigorating
stomachic cordial, increasing the appetite and as
sisting digestion in n remarkable degree, removing
those low spirited and trembling sensations, the
sure effect of a want of tone in foe system. They
ore peculiarly adapted to those who are troubled
with Dinrham, or Weakness offoe Bowels, Ac.
prevalent in foe summer and autumnal months.
They will be found in all cases of to following
description to give relief, viz: Jaundice, Weak

•ropensity to Sleep, Bitter Taste in the Mouth,

Rowund's Tonic Mixture* or
Vegetable Febrifuge*
A specific and lasting cure for FeVcr and Agile.
rfflHIS worthy remedy earnestly repels the slur
JL of being a quack medicine, it hnving been
foe result of many years study, experience and
labor, in the medical practice and observation of
Fever and Ague. It is composed of such medi
cinal principles as were considered most fit to re
store the harmony ofnetion between the stomach,
liver, and the other important Alhction* of the
systematic loss of which^harmony is evidently the
immediate cause of the disease. It spcediiy’prn-
mutes n regular and healthy appetite which is
generally entirely destroyed or rendered very
precarious; by which effect, vigor and strength is
soon afforded to the Whole system. It must be
appnrenttq nil. that a medicine possessing these
peculiar virtues, is useful in a great Variety of
complaints. By renewing the healthy action of
the digestive organs, it hns proved itself of re
markable benefit in dyspepsia, depraved appetite,
heart-burn, water brash, flatulency, jaundice,
night sweats, dysentery, bowel complaints, and
all ofoer affections of similar origin, but it is in
the treatment of Fevers, nnd especially in Fever
and Ague, or Remittent Fever, that its powers
Itave henii principally tested, and with ihnso who
have seen its usefulness, it is pronounced sover
eign to all remedies heretofore discovered fo
those diseases. It hns also been used as a pro
ventive, by many who were subject to n periodi
cal recurrence of the chills and fever, and it has
always warded off the apprehended attack. It
was deemed not improper to accompany the
vegetable febrifuge with a few of the many une
quivocal certificates politely furnished to th’o pro-
f rietor,corroborative offoe foregoing statements,
'or further accounts of its great usefulness, see
pamphlets accompanying each bottle.

Human Hair.
T HE diseases of the hair among us are those
which occasion baldness and gradual falling
off of foei hair, and thinness of it—foe causes of
which nrise from many disorders, especially fe
vers; perspiration, which extends the pores, re
laxes the roots, causes the hair to fall off. and of
ten occasions total baldness. Baldness hns ever
been esteemed a great defect. It generally arises
through violent exercise, from whence arise per
spirations, which too frequently occasion a loss
offoe hair—it relaxes foe roots—the acidity pre
vents the fluid acting on the hair, which occasions
it to waste. For instance, after a violent perspi-
ration foe hair becomes dry, it ftiels extremely
harsh, and no elasticity in it whatever | therefore,
to prevent its taking an effect on foe hair, first
rub the hairdry with n cloth, then apply foe Cns-
sndn Oil to foe roots of foe hair, so that the skin
of the head may be moistened, and remain so af
ter each time of perspiration.
