T HESE medicines have long been known und
appreciated for their extraordinary and iui-
mediate powers nfrostoring perfect health to per
sons stiflering under Dearly every kind of disease
to which thn human frame is liable.
Thu proprietor rejoice* ift tlio opportunity nf-
fbrrfed by tho universal diffusion oftlie daily press
for placing his VEGETABLE LIFE PI LIS
within tho knowledge and reach of every individ
ual i'n the community. Unlike tho host of per-
nicinns quackeries which boast of Vegetable in
gredients, tlio Life Pills are purely and solely
vegetable, uud contain neither mercury, antimo
ny.. arsenic, nor any other mineral in any form
whatever. They are entirely composed ofox-
tracts from rnro and powerful plants, the virtues
of which though long known to several Indian
trihcB, and recently to some eminent phnrmncen-
lien! chemists are altogether unknown to the ig
norant pretenders to medical science, mid were
never beforo administered in so happily effica
cious a combination.
THE PHCENIX JHTTERS are so called, be-
cause they possess the power of restoring thn ex
piring embers ofhenith, to glowing vigor through-
out tho constitution, as the Phamix is suid to he
restored to lifo from the nshes of its own dissolu-
tion. The Phaonix Bitters are entirely vegetable,
composed of roots found only in certain parts of
tho western country, which will inlaliblv cure
FEVERS AND AGUESofnilkinds; wUlnever
fail to nrndicntn entirely all the eflfcctsofmercury
infinitely sooner than tho most powerful prepar
ations ofSnrsnpnrilln. nnd will immedintelv cure
the determination of BLOOD TO THE HEAD;
never fails in sickness incident to young females:
und will he found n certain remedy in all cases of
nervous debility and weakness of tho most im
paired constitutions.
As a remedy for Chronic nnd Inflammatory
Rheumatism, the efficacy of tire Phamix Bitters
will be demonstrated bv the uro ofu single bottle.
Tho usual dose of these Bitters is half a wine
glass full, in water or wine, nnd this quantity may
bo taken two or three times a dny, about half an
boar before meals, or a less minntity may ho ta
ken at nil times. To those wlio nro afflicted with
indigestion nftnr meals, these Bitters will prove
invaluable, us they very greatly increase the ac
tion ofthe principal viscera, help them to perform
their functions, and enable the stomach to dis
charge into the bowels whatever is offensive.
Tims indigestion isensily and speedily removed,
appetite restored, und thn mouths ofthe absorb
ing vessels being cleansed, nutrition is facilitated
and strength of body ayd energy of mind nre the
happy results.
For farther particulars of Moffett's Info Pills
nnd Phamix Bitters, apply at Moffatt’s Office No.
510 Broadway, Ne\V York, where the Pills can bo
obtained for 25 cents, 50 cents and §1 per box;
and the Bitters for $1 a $2 per bottle. Numer
ous certificates of the wonderful efficacy of both,
tnay lie there inspected.

WARRANTED-Cnor 1840.
T HE Proprietor’s opportunities for extensive
practical observation hove enabled him judi
ciously to discriminate such varieties of vetreta-
Ides as ure renlly worthy of culture, from the infe
rior, or, ns is not unfrequent, worthless varieties
ofthe same class, which have been perpetuated
through inexpereuce; therefore, in making this
selection, he hns excluded many sorts usually
found in the Catalogues of those’ who are mere
renders notpractical growers of seeds.—And he is
not sure that tho variety might not be still further
reduced with advantage; ut any rale this is ample
for any garden, however exteusiVe, und fully
adnptcu to the nicest toBte.
As to quality of the seeds, the proprietor wishes
it to bo remembered, Unit what is bold by him is
of his oicn growth, (with -but slight exception,)
therefore warranted with entire confidence, that they
will, upon trial, prove to be far superior to most
of foreign importation, or such as ure casually

The Lucina Cordial.
BEWARE OF FRAUD.
T HE unprecedented popularity of this benefi
cent and inestimable CORDIAL in the U*
nited States, hns induced one or more unprinci
pled persons to manufacture spurious catchpenny
articles, under various names, and purporting to
produce the same effect; but which, in reality, pro
duce no other effect than that of swindling tlie
public; nnd to give a yet more plausible appear
ance of their cupidity, those persons affect that
their wretched nostrums have been in use in
England und elsewhere foru number of years;
whereas, until the illustrious Dr. Maarnti made
his wonderful discovery, no euro for barrenness
laid been over thought of, or nt least made pub
lic; and all those then in use for tlie restoration
ofthe decayed virile powers were found to be of
but little nvail. Thus, all nostrums advertised
for barrenness or the cure of impotcncy, but Dr.
Mngnin’s are mere entebpenny humbugs, which
would novor Iiuxia lu>«*n lliniigtil uf but fur ilioup
pearnneo nnd great celebrity of the LUCINA
CORDIAL. As no counterfeit ofthe name is
at present In circulation, it may in geuoral bo a
sufficient caution for the purchaser trt ask for the
Lucina Cordial, but as further nssurance, itwotild
be ns well to note that its nnme, Lurtiun Cordial,
or Elixir of Love, is stamped iu the glass of each
bottle—tlio combined anus of Franco nnd the U-
nited Stntes nre on the outward envelope—that
u Fleur do Lis is printed on the accompanying
directions, and heautifnlly embossed on the show
bills hanging in the stores of those who have tlie
genuine article for side.
Tho celebrity of the Lucina Cordial being such
ns it is, it is scarcely necessary to add that it is the
only efficient remedy for barrenness, nnd the res
toration of decayed virile powers ever known;
nnd timtiu the cure of Fluor Albus, Gleet, obstruc
ted, difficult or painful Menstruation, the incon
tinence oftho urine, or the involuntary discharge
thereof, lls superiority over every other medicine
is not only decided, but unquestionable. For

Hafieau’s Strciigtltciiing Fluster.
T HESE Plasters are prepared for pains or

Also, fin tlio gout, rheumatism, liver complaint,

difficulty of breathing, oppression of the stomach,
Ac., they will ^ive almost immediate aud sooth
ing relief; and for pleasantness, safety, euso and
certainty, are decidedly superior to most other
remedies. At certain sensous of tho your, when
■coughs and colds urn so prevalent, and when so
many nro ufilictcd with ufiectioua oftho breast
und lungs, there is nothing in tlio whole range of
tlie materia median that can bo used with so much
safety and certainty as iiadeau’e Plaster*. One
of these invaluable Plasters applied to tho chest,
will, in twenty-four hours, relievo tho uiostvio-

They are also iiivaluablo as a preventive, as few

PETER’S PILLS.
W E would call attention to the advertisement
in our columns to-day ofPETERS’ VEG
ETABLE PILLS. Wo understand by tho best
medical authority, that there is no preparation o
the day which enjoys so enviable a reputation.
At tho’ South nnd North, their success has been
unbounded, nnd wherever introduced we believe
they Imvo given the most perfect satisfaction.
We hnvo this day had an interview with one of
our citiznnB, Henry K. Fox, who was recently
cured nfn most rcmarknblo nnd obstinate cuta
neous eruption, where tlio body was covered with
fulsolne ulcers, and oven the tonsils of tho throat
eaten away—nnd by using these Pills daily forsix
weeks, was entirely restored to health.—New
York Examiner.
PETERS’ VEGETABLE PILLS.
They do indeed ra®*nro the health oftho body,
because they purify and invigorate the blood, and
their good effects ure not counterbalanced by any
inconvenienco; being composed entirely of veg

Quirk’s Pti^adn Oil.
T HE diseases oftho hair among \u are thritn
which occasion baldness mid grad;;-: falling
off ofthe hair, and thinness rtf it—tho causes HI*
which arise from many disorders, especially Ib-
vers; perspiration, which extends the pores, rb-
laxes tho' roots, causes the hair to full off, and of
ten occasions total baldness: Baldness has ever
been esteemed u grqatdefect. It generally arises
through violent eitercihh, from whence nrise phr-
spirations, which too frequently occasion a lbss
oftlie hair—it relaxes the roots—the acidity pre
vents tlie fluid acting on the hair,'which occasions
it to wasto. For instance, after a violent perspi
ration the hair becomes dry, it feels extremely
harsh, and no elasticity in it whatever; therelbre,
to prevent ita taking atl effect on the hair, first
rnrt the hair dry with ii cloth, then apply the Cas-
suda Oil to the roots rif the hair, so that the skin
oftho hend may ho moistened, and remain sb af
ter each time of perspiration.
