anro of their cupidity, tlioso persons affect that
their wretched nostrums hnve been in use in
England nnd elsewhere for a number of years
whereas, until the illustrious Dr. Mnguiu made
his wonderful discovery, no cure for barrenness
had been ever thought of, or ut least made pub

ofthe decayed virile powers were found to be of
but little avail. Thus, all nostrums advertised

T HE Proprietor’s opportunities for extensive

not sure that the variety might not be still further
reduced with ndvanuige; nt any rate this is ample
for nny garden, however extensive, and fully

THE ORIGINAL AND GENUINE
Bacleaii’s Strengthening: Plaster.
ffllHESE Plasters aro prepared for pains or
X weakness in the breast, side, hack or limbs.
Also, fin the gout, rheumatism, liver complaint,
end dyspepsia. And for coughs, colds, asthmus,
difficulty of breathing, oppression of the stomach,
«&c., they will give almost immediate and. sooth
ing relief; und for pleasantness, safety, ease and
certainly, nro decidedly superior to most other
remedies. At certain seasons of the year, when
coughs and colds are so prevalent, nud when so
many are nffiictcd with affections ofthe breast
mid lungs, there is nothing in the whole range of
the materia mudicn that can be used with so much
safety mid certainty ns Undean’s Plasters. One
of these invaluable Plasters unpliml to the chest,
will, in twenty-four hours, relievo the most vio
lent cough, and give soothing relief to the chest.
They, are also invnltiablo ns a preventive, ns lew
persons take cold when wearing the Piasters. It
is net supposed that persons unacquainted with
medicine can understand how Plasters can ho of
eo much importance in these affections. Yet they
may rely on such being the fact. At nil events
the experiment is a safe one, nnd will not cost
much; nud those who ure thus nffiictcd are advi
sed to try thorn.

PETER’S PILLS,
W E would call attention to the advertisement
in our columns to-day nf PETERS' VEG
ETABLE PILLS. We understand by the best
medical authority, that there is no preparation o
the slay which ettiovs so enviable n reputation.
At the’ South nnd North, their success has been
unbounded, and wherever introduced wo believe
they have given the most perfect satisfaction.
We have this day had tin interview with one of
our citizens, Henry K. I-’ox, who wns recently
cured of a most remarknble nnd obstinate cuta
neous eruption, where the body wns covered with
fulsome ulcejrs, and even the tonsils of the throat
eaten away—nud by using thoso Pills daily for six
weeks, wns entirely restored to health.—New
York Examiner.
PETERS’ VEGETABLE PILLS.
They do indeed reborn the health ofthe body,
because they purify and invigorate the blood, nnd
tiieir good efleets ure not counterbalanced hy any
inconvenience; being composed entirely of veg
etables, they do not expose those who use them
to danger, and their efl'ects are ns certuin us they

to women in the most criticnlntid delicate circum
stances, they do not disturb or shock the animal
functions, lifu restores thfir order nrn! re-estab

Bitters.
T HESE medicines have long been know n nnd
appreciated for their extraordinary and im
mediate powers of restoring perfect health to per
sons suffering under nearly every kind of disease
to which die human frame is liable.
The proprietor rejoices in tho opportunity af
forded bv the universal diffusion ofthe daily press
for placing his VEGETABLE LIFE PILLS
within tho knowledge and reach of every individ
ual in the community. Unlike tho host nf per
nicious quackeries which boast of vegetable in
gredients, the Life Pills are purely and solely
vegetable, and contain neither mercury, antimo
ny, arsenic, 110/ any other mineral in nny form
whatever. They nro entirely composed of ex
tracts from rare nnd powerful plants, tho virtues
of which though long known to several Indian
tribes, and recently to some eminent pharmacen-
ticnl chemists nrc altogether unknown to the ig
norant pretenders to inedicul science, and were
never before administered in so happily effica
cious a combination.
THE PHOENIX BITTERS aro so called, be
cause they possess the power of restoring tho ex
piring embers of health, to glowing vigor through-
out the rou«titution, as the Plmmix is said to he
restored to life from the ashes of its own dissolu
tion. The Phamix Bitters are entirely vegetable,
composed of roots found only in certain purls nf
the western country, which will ittlidiltiv cure
FEVERS AND AGUES ofnll kinds'; will never
fail to eradicate entirely all the efl'ects of mercury
infinitely sooner than the most powerful prepat-1
ntious ofSnrsnpnrilln. nnd will immediately cure
lli«determination of BLOOD TO THE ilEAU;
never fails in sickness incident to young females:
nnd will lie found a certain remedy in all cases ol
nervous debility nnd weakness of the most iui-
puti'udcum-lituliouH.
As a remedy for Chronic nnd Inflammatory
Rheumatism, the efficacy ofthe Phumix Bitters
will bo demonstrated bv the uso nfa siuzlo bottle.
The usual dose of these Bitters is half u wine
glass full, in wnlcr or wine, and this quantity may
be taken two or three times a day, nbftut half un
hour before meals, or a less quantity may be In-
ken nt all times. To those who are nffiictcd with
indigestion after meals, these Bitters will prove
invnhinhlc, as they very greatly increase the ac
tion ofthe principal viscera, help them to perform
their functions, nnd enable the stomach to dis
charge into the bowels whatever is ofii usivc.
Tims indigestion in easily nnd speedily removed,
appetite restored, nnd the months nf dm absorb
ing vessels being cleansed, nutrition is facilitated
and .-truiiglb of body and energy of mind are the
happy results.

been esteemed a great defect. It generally arises
through violent exercise, from whence arise per
