Tho Lucian Cordial.
BEWARE OF FRAUD.
T HE unprecedented popularity ofthisbonofi-
cent mid inestimable CORDIAL in the U-
nited States, has induced one or more unprinci
pled persons to manufacture spurious catchpenny
articles, under various names, and purporting to
produce the same effect; but which, in renlilv, pro
duce no other effect than that of swindling the
public; nnd to give a yet more plausible nppear-
anco of their cupidity, time persons affect that
their wretched nostrums have been in use in
England nnd elsewhere fora number of years;
whereas, until the illustrious Dr. Mnguin made
hts wonderful discovery, no cure for barrenness
had been ever thought of, or at lenst nuide pub-
be; and all those then ill use for the restoration
ortho decayed virile powers were found to be of
but little avail. Thus, nil nostrums advertised
for ImrronncHj or the cureofiiupotency, but Dr.
Magniu s nro nmro catchpenny humbugs, which
would never have been thought of but fbr theap-
penroncy and great celebrity of the LUCINA
CORDIAL. As no counterfeit ofthe name is
at present in circulation, it may in general be a
sufficient caution for the purchaser to ask for the
Lticmn Cordial, but as further assurance, itwonld
8 well to note that its name, Luchin Cordial,
o Elixir of Love, is stamped in lim glass of each
b«. itlc——tlm combined arms of Franco nnd tlm li
nked States are on the outward envelope—that
a Hour de Lis is printed on the accompanying
directions, and ImaiitiAilly embossed on the show
bills banging in tlm stores of those who have the
genuine article for sale.
The celebrity of the Lncina Cordial being such
ns it is, it is scarcely necessary to add tlint it is tim
only efficient remedy for barren ness, nnd the res
toration of decayed \ irile powers ever known;
nnd that in the cure ofFluorAlbus,Gleet, obstruc
ted, difficult or painful Menstruation, tlm incon
tinence ofthe urine, or the involuntary discharge
thereof, its superiority over every other medicine
is not only decided, but unquestionable. For

ITIoirnU’s Lite Pills and Pltamix
, Bitters.
fTl HESE medicines have long been known nnd
i appreciated for their extraordinary and im
mediate powers nfrestoring perfect health to per
sons suffering under nearly every kind of disease
to which the human frame is liable.
The proprietor rejoices in the opportunity af
forded by the universal diffusion ofthe daily press
for placing his VEGETABLE LIFE PILLS
within tlm knowledge and reach ofevery individ
ual in tlm community. Unlike the hostofper-
niciniis quackeries which boast of vegetable in
gredients, the Life Pills are purely and solely
vegetable, and contain neither mercury, antimo
ny, arsenic, nor uny other mineral in any form
whatever. They ure entirely composed of ex
tracts from rare and powerful plants, the virtues
of which though long known to several Indian
tribes, and recently to some eminent pharmaceu
tical chemists nre altogether unknown to the ig
norant pretenders to medical science, and were
never before administered in so happily effica
cious n combination.
THE PIKENIX BITTERS aro so called, be-
cause they possess the power nfrestoring the ox-
piring embers of health, to glowing vigor through
out the constitution, as the Phamix is said to be
restored to life from the ashes of its own dissolu
tion. The Phamix Bitters are entirely vegetable,
composed of roots found only in certain ports of
the western country, which will infaliblv cure
FEVERS AND AGUES ofall kinds; will never
(nil to eradicate entirely ull the effects of mercury
infinitely sooner than the mostpowerful prepar
ations ofSarsaparilln, nnd will immediately cure
tho determination of BLOOD TO THE HEAD;
never fails in sickness incident to young females:
and will be found a certain remedy in all cases of
nervous debility nnd weakness of the most im
paired constitutions.
As a remedy for Chronic nnd Inflammatory
Rheumatism, tho efficacy of the Phamix Bitters
will ha demonstrated hv the use ofu single bottle.
Tho usual dose of these Bitters is half a wine
glass full, in water or wine, nml this quantity may
be taken two or three times a day, about hnlf an
hour before menls, or a less quantity may he ta
ken at nil times. To tlioso who are afflicted with
indigestion after meals, these Bitters will prove
invaluable, ns they very greatly increase the no
tion ofthe principal viscera, help them to perform
their fuuciioiis, nnd enuhle tho stomach to dis
charge into tho bowels whatever is offensive.
Thus indigestion is easily nnd speedily removed,
appetite restored, nnd the mouths ofthe absorb
ing vessels being cleansed, nutrition iB facilitated
nnd strength of body and energy of mind are the
happy results.
For farther particulars of Moffett's Life Pills
and Phamix Bitters, apply at Moffalt's office No.
51G Broadway, New York, where the Pillscnn bo
obtained for 25 cent*. 60 cent* and $1 per box;
and the Bitters for$l a §2 per bottle. Numer
ous certificates of the wonderful efficacy of both,
may be there inspected.

T HE subscriber bus been induced, ut the re
pented solicitation of his friends, to offer to
the public tlm Medicines which have proved of
signal benefit to themselves. It is idle to declare
that ho has no other object in view than ihe ben
efit ofthe ufilicted. Self-preservation is the first
organic law of nature in man; nnd Im who labors,
exerts his intellect, and spends his means for the
public, good, without expectation of any return
from tlm public, must possess a greater share of
philanthropy than one in a thousand. After this
avowal, it is proper to mention, that tlm Ilygeian
Medicines huvo been compounded after n life of
practical experiment and acute observation; and
that those recipes are adopted which have been
found most efficacious in the treatment oftlm dis
eases for which limy are recommended; It is ul-
so proper to observe, that in his younger yenrs,
the subscriber himself suffered tho- most deplora
ble ill health, arising entirely from great derange
ment nfhis digestive organ's, induced hy too in
tense application to study nt college, and acquir
ing a knowledge of his profession. His own siif-
ferings early induced him to investigate lim cause
of them, and to endeavor to discover the best re-
medics. Ilis experience, in connexion with the
observations ho has made in n great number of
f inal mortem examinations, lias irresistibly drawn
lim to tim conclusion, that the digestive organs
are the sent of n great shnre of human disease—
that tha disensfd nr deranged stnte ofthem is the
cause of much of nor suffering; for these nfe vi
tal organs, supplying tlm system with nourish
ment. ns well us purifying it, und preserving its
healthy condition. Besides, the sympathy exist
ing between the digestive organs and every oth
er pnrt of tlm system is very great, through the
connexion ofthe nerves. When tim digestive
organs urn deranged or diseased, tho Mood is
poisoned by the absorption of acrid, putrid, nnd
undigested matter from ihn stomach and into*
tines; nnd this matter is notso completely .hrowo
off nt the different emunctorios in disease us in
health. As the blood fa circulated through the
system with wonderful rapidity for its nourish
ment, it immediately begins tn'suffer whenever
the blond becomes contaminated. Hence, if we
desire or expect health, we must keep tim foun
tains of life pure. S. J. SPOON Ell, M. D.

OF HAIR. USE
Quirk’s Cossnda Oil.
rilHE diseases of thu hnirnmorig us are those
Jl which occasion haldnass and gradunl foiling
off nf the hair, and thuiness of it—the causes of
which arise from many disorders, especially fe
vers: perspiration, which extends the pores, re
laxes tlm roots, causes tho liuir in Tall off. and of
ten occasions total baldness. Baldness has ever
been esteemed n great defect. It generally arises
through violent exercise, from whence arise per-
spirsuons, which too frequently occasion a loss
ofthe hair—it relaxes the roots—the acidity pre
vents the fluid acting on tiie hnir,Which occasions
it to waste. For instunce, after n Vi dent perspi
ration the hair becomes dry, it feels extremely
harsh, and no elr-ticity in it whntever; therefore,
to prevent its taking uu effect on the hair, first
rub the hair dry with a cloth, then apply the C'ns-
sndn Oil to the roots of tiie hair, sn that the skin
ofthe head mnv be moistened, and remain so af
ter ench time of perspiration.

A Certain Cure for Sick Head
Ache.
W HICH hns been used in families, every
member of which hns hud sick headache
•i n.infimcy,as a constitutional family complaint,
I < has cured effectually in every lustauce yet
known, amounting to many hundreds. It is not
unpleasant tothe tn«'e, and does Hot prevent the
daily avocations of one using it; it must he perse
vered in, and the euro is gradunl, hut certain and
permanent Instances are coustnutiy multiply
ing where this distressing complaint incomplete
ly relieved nnd cured, although of years standing,
by the use of Dr. Spohn's celebrated remedy.
One decided preference is its pleasantness, hnv
iug none of the nauseating effects of common
drugs.
Iti all dyspeptic symtams, costiveness, irregu
larity, dif tress after meals, paiusinthe side nnd
torpidity ofthe liver, the cure is perfect, nnd any
one so afflicted will become immediately convin
ced on using it, thnt ha has nt Inst found a "sover
eign balm for his wounds.” Feuiules are particu
larly recommended to use it for costiveness or ir
regularity, and other female complnints. It is
proved to correct vitiated and disordered humors
keepiug tiie stomach in most perfect order. Those
persons who after an ovenings indulgence at par
ties, Ac. hare headache and dullness the next
day, will find this a sure preventive if taken at
bed time. For all common complaints, in n few
days its virtues will he self-evident, and a complete
cure will soon he effected. When a person hns
a cold nnd feels nnwell, generally a free use ofit
for.a few days will he sure to relieve without
ihysic or pills. To children it may he given with
ho greatest ndvantnge.
In all acidity orsournnssofstomncli this remiuly
is sovereign nnd invnluahle; as n general family
medicine it is now adopted hy many of the most
respectable fumilcs. It never sickens the stomach
