|J This Liquid is prepared according to tho for
mula of tho inventor, M. Labamiquo, a distinguish
ed chemist in Paris, who was rewarded by the Royal
Institute of France, with the prize of 300 ftnncs for
its discovery. It is now considered the most power
ful, disinfecting agent known. It is for preferable
to Chloride of Lime, being more convenient and a-
treeabie, and can be kept in bottles, well corked,
or any length of time ; whereas, the olhei very soon
loses its disinfecting qualities. This Liquid will
immediately destroy tho nauseous effluvia, which a-
rises ftom kennels, sewers, drains, sinks, wntor-clos-
eta. markets, ships, stables, hospitals, ward*, prisons,
stalls for beef nnd fish; and, in general, nil places
infected with animal exhalations. It has completely
■uccoeded in removing the local infection "ml tho
bad imoll which ariseaftom mortification, foul ul
cers, or bad ■ores of any kind. When mixed with
15 parts of water, it makes a moat excellent wash for
carious teeth, ulceration of the mouth, or a garglo
for a soro-throat. It has boon used extensively, and
boon found a most effectual opplication in oruptions
of the akin, such as tetters or ringworm, itch, &c.
dec. In larders or safes, especially in tho country,
whon oftentimes provisions for tho week must be
laid in at once, tho moat can be kept fresh by there
beiug placed at hand a vessel of Chloride Water,
to bochanged daily. Foraaloby A. PARSONS,

P IICENIX BITTERS ANDiLIFE
PILLS.—Remarks of tho Public
From Vie Litchfield (Conn.) Sun.,
Among the many advertiaed medicines of the day,
there is* none more justly celebrated than Moffat's
Life Pills and Phamix Bitters. Wherever intro
duced, they have given entire aatisfoction, aid their
vitruea only want to bo tnoro extensively known to
render them a universally approved medicine. We
are not in the habit of puffing to contribute \o the
venality of quacks for a douceur, and have no faith
in their cure-all nostrums. But Mr. Moffat’s Medi-
cinoa are a different articlo; hia Pills arc a good ca
thartic, and hia Bitten an excellent tonic.’ Wo
know them to bo so ftom experience, having juied
them ourselves in our family,' and so confident arc
wo oftheir efficacy, that, although wo havcn<) au
thority to do so. wo will warrant their giving ^tis-
faction in all complaints for wiiich they
mended.
From the CcVun Dimoctui.
The best medicines for giving fresh vigor to tyi
system, daring the warm weather, are Moffat’s Lift
Pills nnd Phamix Bitters. Great numbors wht
have made uio of .them, find that they cleanso tin
stomach of all impurities, and give a healthy tonc 'to
tho system, create a good appetite, and thereby re
move the languor and feebleness, which oppresses
almost every person during tho hot season. Those
who are afflicted, need only to mnko a fair trial
these medicines to be convinced.
From the Louisville Journal, Oel. 13.
At tho solicitation of an oldfrioud, we publish,
with pleasure, in this day’s paper, letter from Mr.
O. L. Smith, of the firm of Smith, Riddle & Co. of
this city, to Mr. Moffat, of the city of New York,
proprietor of the “Life Pill and Phamix Bitters.” In
this letter, Mr. Smith gives an account of his suffer
ings from a severe attack of chronic rheumatism,
under which ho labored for more than throe years,
and of his speedy euro by tho use of tho aforesaid
modiolnea. A certificate, coming from so rcipocta-
hlo a aourcc, cannot fail to have its weight in this
community. Iftliis medicine is found by cxpcricnco
to effect so immediate a cure of a complaint so pain-
fol and distressing, in would ho highly valuabio to
persons engaged in navigating steamboats o|i our
western rivers. From their constant exposure to
tho inclemency of the weather, and from tho rapidi
ty of their transition from a cold to a warm climate,
nnd from a warm to a cold ono. their are peculiarly
liable to rheumatic attacks. To thorn this mcdiplno
may provo an invaiuablo remedy: one which they
can always keep on hand lor use as occasion may
roquiro.
It is said that a singlo doso of three pills, or two
doses at most, will relieve a common cold. Tho
proprietor of tho modicino, through a friend, wn i so
kind, a few weeks ago, at to send us a bottlo of tho
hitters, and a box of tho pills; and when afflicted
with a severe cold, we hato derived apparently great
benefit from tliolr use. IVe do not bolievo that an. •
medicine over has been or ever will ho discovered,
which, in serious complaints, will aupcrcodo the
noccssity of tho physician’s services, yot wo have
strong reason to hopo that tho medicine of which
we hove been speaking, will prove of great utility
to tho community.
From the New York Bun.
A Word to Parents.—All tho [mortality ymf wit
ness among children and youth wises from a neglect
of small complaints. Children w III often avoid com-
nlaint in order to avoid takinm medicine. It bo-
loo vea parents, tliorcforc. to wateh them closely, as
they valuo their health, their very existence. This
foithfolly dono, they would novef have any serious
illness. And what is Jhe groat hardship and incon

quisite; and to thia qnd, not anttndividual among
parents should passed a single night without at least

modo, strictly followed, will keepwholo families in
perfect health;and they, will consequently tnko less
of this ono medicine in a year, ti(on is sometimes
required in a single week of serious illness, at the
hands of ■ physician. Parent* by Attending to this

have been performed by this invaiuablo medicine;
many, who for years, havo been unable to lay down

an accumulation of phlegm, (which invariably causes

J H. EUSTACE’S infhlliblc Gonor-
• rluca Mixture.—At length has been discover
ed an infallible and invnluable remedy for tho cure
of tho most obstinnte chronic nnd common cases of
Gonorrhma in five dava. The dangerous and use
less remedies which nave hitherto been offered to
those who havo unfortunately incurred tho above
troublesome disease, is a subject which has justly
merited the censure of tho fnculty.and produced, in
many cases, vory serious and alarming effects. To
f ;uaru against these abuses, J. II. Eustnco has been
iiduced to prepare a preparation which is attended
with no danger whatever, and is active and efficient
in curing tho disease, with littlo trouble to tho pa
tient
The proprietor hot been studious in this parties
lor, as many persons cannot spare tho time, or sus
pend business, to undergo a regular course of medi
cino and regimen. This preparation will entirely
obviate this necessity. Tho course to bo pursued is
exceedingly sirnnlo, and will not interfere with tho
regular duties of business : and if tho medicine is
used according to tho directions, it will effect a
speedy cure in five days. As to Us decided effica
cies, we will barely remark, that since its use in this
city, there has not keen a failure in t single case, nnd
there are many, both of tho Fnculty ami otherwise,
that have already testified with plcnsuro to its deci
dedly superior qualities. Its tasto is perfectly a-
grecable, and persons of the most delicate stomachs
have used it without any inconvonionco whatever
