NOTICE TO MARINERS.
The following Spar Buoys were placed on the bar
of St. Augustine, (E. P.) on Saturday, Oct. 7,1843,
by packot schr. Stephan St Francis, W. P. Rose,
muter.
Buoy No. 1, placed in 5 fathoms water, outside
the bar.
Buoy No. 2, placed on the bar, in 7 foot, low tide.
Buoy No. 3, placed Inside tho bar, In feat low
tide, distance from each other oue-fourth nautical
mile. The whole being in a rango with the light
house, and bearing nearly W. by N. by compass va
riation 5A degrees. Best marks for St. Augustine
bar—with tho above range, brihg tho light bouae
and the large flag-staiTon St. Francis barrack*, open'
one oar’s longth to the northward of tho light house.
Capb Robert Day, of tho U. S. Rovonue cutter
Crawford, tho Collector of tho Port, and tho Pilot*,
were present when the above Buoy* wore placed.
