P IKE NIX BITTERS AND LIFE
PILLS.—Remarks of the Public Press.—
#Voss Iks Lilttytid (Cotm.) Bun.
Among tbe many advertised ntedicinos of the day,
there is none more justly celebrated than Moffat's
Life Pills and Pba*nii Bit {era. Wherever intro
duced , thoy have given entire satisfaction, and tlieir
vitrucs only want to be more extensively known to
reiMer them a universally approved medicine. We
are not in the habit of puffing to contribnte to the
venality of qnseksfbr a doucenr, and have no faith
in their cure-all noalniini. Rut Mr. Moffat’s Medi
cines are a different article) bis Pills are a good ca
thartic. and hit Bitten on excellent tonic. Wo
know them to ho so from experience, having used
them ourselves in our family, and so confident are
we of their oflicicy, that, although wo havo no au
thority to do so, we will warrant their giving satis
faction in all complaints for which they are recoin
From the (iotken Democrat.
The beat medicines for giving fresh vigor to the
system, during the warm weather, are Moffat’s Life
Pills and Phamix Bitters. Groat numbora who
have made uso of them, fiud that they cleanse Uio
r'nmach of all imparities, and give a healthy tone to
the syrtem, create a good appetite, and thereby re
move the languor ami feebleness, which oppresses
almost every person during the hot soason. Those
who are afUtctod, need only to roako a fair trial of
these medicines to be convinced.
From Ikt-lAtainilU Journal, Oct. 13.
At tbe solicitation of an old friend, wo'publish,
with pleasure, in this day’s paper, letter from Mr.
O. L. Smith, of tho firm of Smith, Riddle &. Co. of
this city, to Mr. Moffat, of tho city of Now York,
proprietor oftbe “Lib Pill and Pbasniz Billers.” In
this letter,Mr. Smith gives an aceouNleT his suffer
ings from a severe attack of chronic rhottmatiam,
under which ho labored fur moro than throo yearn,
and of his speedy euro by tlio uso of tlio aforesaid
medicines. A certificate, coming from so respecta
ble a source, cannot fail to have its weight in this
community. Ifthis medicine is found by experience
to effect so immediato a euro oft complaint so pain-
fill and distressing, in would bo highly vnluablo to
persons engsgod in navigating steamboats on our
western rivers. From their constant exposure to
the inclemency of tbe weather, and from the rapidi
ty of their transition from a cold to a warm climato,
and from a warm to a cold one. tlmlr sre peculiarly
liable to rhoumatic attacks. To them this medicine
insy prove an intraluablo remedy: one which they
con always keep on band lor use as occasion may
"B said that a single dose of throe pills, or two
doses nt most, will relievo a common cold. Tlio
proprietor oftbo medicine, through a friend, was so
kind, a lew weeks ago, as to send us a bottle of the
hitters, and a box of the pills) and when afflicted
with a severe cold, we have derived apparently great
benefit from their use. We do not believe that any
inodicino over lias buou or ever will be discovered,
which, in serious complaints, will supercede tlio
necessity of the physician’s services, yet wo have
strong reason to hope that the medicine of which
we live boon speaking, will prove of great utility
to tho community.
