Cotton*.— 1 The sales of all descriptions dur
ing the week have probably reached about 300 balea,
principally Sea lalanda, and about 100balesSantees.
Prices are considered by sailors as ruling very low,
a's few as 14 cents for a common article, the finer
descriptions from 26 a 30 cents: Sauteca from 14 a
17; a few bales Maine* at 163.
JWe*.—The market for this article remains on the
whole very steady, although occasionally there ia
anmewhat of a fluctuation either in the demand or
prices. The transaction! of the past weok nmuunt

Rough Rite.—The receipts of tlie week amount
to about 73,000 bushels, of which the following aalea
have been effected—22,000 bushels at CO eta; 8,000
bushels at 18 cents; 13,000 at 15 cents, and 1,100
buahels of Southern growth at 66 cent*.
Exchange.—Our Bank table remains unsettled.
We quote nut-door Starling, at 9 a 91 per cent
premium. Sight Checks on the North at par a |
per cent discount, with a good demand (or the
latter.
Freight*.—\ vessel in the forepart of the week
was taken for Liverpool at il-lGd; no engagements
have been made since. For Havre, we continue 14
and I) cents fer square bales and Sea Island, and
for Rica.. Fr-** - -

vanned since the commencement of the week, en
gagements for New York having been mndo at 374

a slight increase in the supply of this article, during
this week, and prices are a shade better. We quote
to-day, extremes, nt-3 to 4| cents.
APALACHICOLA, JAN.4,—Colton.-Since the
list news from Europe, not enough has been dune
to establish the market. Buyers are generally re-
qaiqng | a jc. reduction and not much inclination
to bey at this decline. We ernso quotations alto
