MOUNT PLEASANT FAMILY
1YJ. SCHOOL — ROXDURY, (Mats.)—
Since this School want into operation, an opportu
nity haa been- afforded of testing, by actual experi
ment, the utility of its designs, and the value of its
leading characteristics. No pains have been spared
to make It adequate to the purposes for which it
wae commenced. The wholo internal arrange
ments are conducted on the principles of a well-
regulated household, where all the pupils consti
tute a fkmUy-circIo, united in the great work of
Home Education, under every advantage which
time and placec»npresent.
Our undeviatinf^ aim has been no establish a
School of such nn order and character, that those
having vonsWdaughters to educatb, might feel en
tire confidence in submitting them to our manage
ment, assured that no effort would be wanting, to
accomplish for thorn, all that could bo reasonably
anticipated.
The courao of instruction embraces all tho ordi
nary, and the moat uaeflil of the higher English
branches, tosother with the Greek. Latin, Freuch,
Italian, and Spanish languages, and Mnaie.
The discipline ia impartially strict) yet such it ia
believed, ae Is calculated to secure tho obedience
and respect of the pupils, and the approbation of
judicious parents. Tne moral influence ofinstrnc-
lion, persuasion, and encouragement ia primarily
and mainly relied on, and ia seldom fauna ineffec
tual.
Habits of oxactneu and order in all the external
deportment of the puplle, as well as in their mental
operations, arc carefully formed. Their manners
in the school-room and the street, their deportment
in the family and the company, in the presence of
their inferior*, their equals, and their superiors, re
ceive the strictest attention. Indeed, no efforts
are spared which are calculated to give direction
mud permanence to correct moral reeling, to Incul
cate the love of truth and goodness, and a rever
ence for the Scriptures aa uie Word of God and the
ruleofllfo.
Guardians, entrusted with the care of orphan chil
dren, who are disposed to send them to this estab

In short, the design or the School ia to make tho
pupils contented, comfortable and happy, at the

been found highly beneficial and of great use to
ladies who havo been afflicted with superfluous
hair, principally when ite growth haa been confined
to the upper lip and side oftho face, giving a mas
culine turn to the whole featuros. When used
with proper care, and according to the directions,
it will be found to be a great addition to the toilet,
ns thn use of nny sharp instrument is entirely avoid
ed, and the hnir is removed in five or ten minutes
after its application.
Thia composition is infallible, and wnrrnntod to
