Section I.—Be it onlaiucd by the Mayor nnd Aldermen
of tiio City of Savannah and Humlcix ilicofin Council os
Ecmblcd, nnd it i* hereby oidnincd by the authority ol the

the City of Savnmiati and Hamiets thereof, be, and the
same are, divided into Five General Divirion*, to be
known a-* Firo Deduct*, according to the following plau

Section 9.—Be It further otdained by the authority
aforesaid, Hint it shall be the duly of tit* Watchman in
the Cupola of the Exchange, at Uie occurrence of Fire,
first to give a general alarm, by ringing the Exchange Hell
continuously, for a.space of time not exceeding two
minutes duration, and then to designate the District xx Imre'
such fire may occur, by Tolling the bell for the Inst Dis
trict—Striking T*x ice with short intervals for tho Second
DUtrlet—striking Three Times with shott interval* for
the Third Dirtiict—sulking Four Times with short inter

be the duty of the Watchman in the Citpuhi of tire Ex

may occur, by tolling and striking tho Exchange bull in

Section a—Be it further ordained by the authority

citizens; and whereas power ia vested in the Mayor and
Aldermen of the eity of Savannah nnd the liamh-t* there,
of, by Act of the General Assembly, to carry Into full effort

shall he the duty of the Mayor, whenever he shall recetva

tracts, to serve a notice upon the owner, truant, or culti
vator of the said land, or any person having the charge of

shall fail to appear before Council, or If having appeared,
