urday were very trifling, not exceeding 300 bales, and the
decline of go. was fully established. On Saturday eve
ning the accounts or the Canada were received. These
quote Cotton as having advanced X d. to a ferthluiV lb.,
with large sales tu tho trade, speculators and exporters.
These accounts have stiffened our holders and on Monday
rimy advanced ihe asking prices to thoee prevailing betOrs
the decline, but buyers did not enter the market freely
either on Hint day or to-day preferring to wait tho receipt
of the letters before operating st the advance quoted.
During the woek six bales of new Cotton have been re
ceived from Wnrrcn, Burke and Morgan bounties. Prices
are noisuflklf nlly established to give the quotations or
either new or old Cottona correctly, we therefore omit
them this week altogether.
Freight*.—The boats are doing a good business In up
IVelghu. The shipments of Cotton to Savannah are very
trifling-the rate la now 90 cents per bale. To Charleston
the same rate still ts asked by Uie Railroad.

NeAV-Orlesuts, Aug, AS, P. M.—Cotton.—The
salee of Cotton for the week, amount to 800 bales. The
stock on hand is 13.070 bales against 89,110 st the same
period last year. The receipt* or tho now crop are 117
bales against 1009 laatyear. Thirty bales of the new Cot
ton have sold, middling fair to fully fair 10# to 11 cts.
Ang. AO.—Cotton.—Yesterday, four hundred and
seventy bales Cotton were sold—among them twenty-one
bales of lho new crop at 11 cents.

for Cotton, nnd an exlcmdve business with a further ad
