J. N. Harris, Esq.—Doer 81*: You will recollect when
I sew you In New London, In January lest myexprcstlng
1 o you my most sanguine expectations that Davis' Pain
Killer would have a tremendous sale in tho West tills
season, and my anticipations have been more than real
ised. and the testimony of thousands who have used It
hasi been that they would not be willing logo to bed at
night without It in tho house.
On the appearance or the cholera in tills city, such was
the coufldenco In Uto Pain Killer as e remedy, that many
who purchased it remarked to mo that they had no fears
or dread or the cholera os long as they had the PrIii Kil
ler by them, and hundreds took It dally as a preven
live, for no person can have a derangement or the bowels
or dlarrhma ir they u*e this medicine dally. This was
ho security and confidence of hundreds acquainted with
t, and when their friends were attacked with tho choloin
they would administer this remedy In large quantities In
ternally, and also externally by bathing nnd rubbing them
with It. and in every case where it Ims been tnken in
any of the first singes of this disenso it has proved
successful. I consider it an Infidllble remedy. 1 have
not heard of nn Individual In any fkmlly who used the
Pain Killer when attacked hut what speedily recovered.
Capt llroadwcll, ofthe steamer Atlantic, a New Or
leans packet, informed me that on one of his trips up the
river to this city, thntthere were upwnrd* ofseventyca-es
orch'di-ra on board, nnd the Pain Killer was used with
complete and triumphant success.
Theclerk Informed inn that he administered It to per
sona whan cold nnd in tho cramps, and it gave Immediate
relief; but still It should be given quickly, for when tho
discharge or«‘rlee water” has begun, the nope of lire has
fled, bnould this disente mnke lit appearance among
you, aa In all probability It will, be not alarmed, you nnd
nil othors there have tho remedy, and I am confident If tho
Pain Killer la used not a death by cholera will occur in
your city.
If tho cholera comes among you, watch Uses*, progr
and the remody use, and mark tan icords, the family who
uses the Pain Killer dally will have as diarrkea, as die
arrnngemento(\hei bowels, and consequently no t holer a.
If those who are attacked will use the Pain Killer early
and thoroughly they will be saved. This has been the
experience of hundreds in tills city during lire ravages of
this dreadful disease. • * » » .
1 have not been able to supply one-fourth ofthe demand.
I hnvo received orders from persons begging me to send
Ihcin some.
Now, for your own snke, for my snko, and for the sake
of suffering thousand*, mnke some arrangements t lint your
agents can lie supplied. Increase your manufacture, do
somrrtia? font a suffering world may be relieved from
pain, for iho time will come when not a family on this
coutlncnt will he willing to do without it a »liigla day.
Respectfully yours, A.T. WOODWARD.
Those using the Pnlu Killer should strictly observe foe
following directions >
At tho commencement of foe disease take a tenspoon-
Ail of Pain Killer In Sugar and watur, and then bathe free

Should foe dlarrhma nr cramps continue, repeat the
