AS ACT to amend an act entitled an act amendatory of
and In addition to the various acts, heretofore passed In
reference lo tho city of Savannnh, approved lleccmbcr
Kih, 1810, to allow an appeal to n Special Jury In the
Superior Court of Chatham County, from any decision
made under tho sixth section or that act, und also to
B 'de for the registry of tho names of all |arsons on
to vo'.o for Mayor and Aldermen of said city; and
lo prevent persons from voting for such Mayor uml Al
dermen whose names arc not registered.
Hie. 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and Haute of Repro-
uitilieei of tie State of Georgia, in Otneral Assembly
sut, sad it it hereby enacted 6y the authority of the tame,
That when any decision of Freeholders shall hereafter bo
made under the sixth section of the said net of December
Eh. IMS, the owner or owners of lend affected by such
decision, shall have the right to appeal therefrom to n
rpedal Jury in the Superior Court of Chatham county,
nod the verdict or such Jury shall bo Anal and concluslvo

Sic. 2. He it further enacted by the authority of

for Major and Aldermen of the city of Savannah nnd
the hamlets thereof who uro citizens of tho United
States, have resided In the Plate of Georgia for one
jrar immediately preceding tho cloction and within
the corporate limits of Savannah for ono month immedi
ately preceding their registration and coutlnuo so to do
up to the timo of election, who have attained the age of
lwsnly-one years, have paid all city taxes or Iravo In
Uelr own right sufficient real estate to satisfy any tax ex
ecutions which may bo against thorn, who havo made nil
returns required by the ordinances of tlio city, and
tire been registered according to tho provisions of
thlisct.
8ic. 3d. Be it further enacted by the authority afore-
•tii, That tlio Clork of tho Common Council of tho
J/f ot Savannah, and la case of his sickness or ali
enee, any officer duly elected and appointed by the
Major sml Aldermen or a majority of them, for U»nt pur-
pn« shall open a list for tho registration of voters on

Sic. 4. Be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid,

Sxc. 0. And be it further enacted, That when any
cause shall ho sent back to tho Superior Courts by tho
Supreme Cdurt, tlio snmo shall bo In order for trial nt tho
first term of tho said Superior Court,—next after tho
decision of tlio said Supremo Court, nnd where either
parly may havo exhausted their continuances on tho
nppent tho said Superior Courts shall havo frill power nnd
authority to grant ono continuance to said party as tho
ends of Justice may require.
Sec, 7. And be it Jurther enacted, That all causes In
cither tho Supreme ortho Superior Courts of this State
mny bo tried under the provisions of this act, or of thoso
of which It Is mncndntnry until tlio first dny of May next,
when this act shall repeal nil laws and parts of laws mili
tating ngulnst any of Its provisions.
Sec. 8. h'hereae, Tlio Legislature, nt Its present ses*
Ion, has created a new Judicial District, known as tho
Macon District, embracing certain counties, to wit: llibb,
Crawford, Houston, Twiggs. Dooly and Silicon, und an
nexed tho sntno to the Third Judlclul District of wild

previous to Hie passage of tho act organizing said new
circuit, cases were decided In thethreo lost mentioned cir
cuits which belonged to other Judicial Districts, nnd
whereas doubts are entertained ns to whether snid cases
so determined previous lo tho passage of said act, organ
izing said now circuit, should bo returned to the next term
or the Supremo Court, lo bo held In and for tho district
lo which tho sutd threo counties belong, or to tho next terra
of tho Supremo Court, to bo held at Macon for Uio third
Judicial District, for remedy whereof,
Be it enacted. That all such cases as nro mention
ed in the preamble or this act, ahull bo inndu returuablo
to tlm Bupremo Court lo bo hold in tho Judicial District to
which said county belonged, at the timo tho enso was
tried nnd determined, or lo the Judicinl District to which
said counties of Twiggs, Dooly and Macon are now an
nexed at tho option of tho ptulntlff In error, provided,
that this act shall extend only to cases tried nnd deter
mined in tho Supreme courts or snid lust mentioned
counties. Immediately preceding tho passage of tho said
act, organizing snid now circuit, and ahull not extend to
any cusos tried and determined since tho passago of said
act.
Sec. 0. And be it further enacted, That tho Mlddlo Ju
dicial District shall bo added to tho first Supremo Court,
Judicial District, In which said Bupremo Court shall
hereafter sit, alternately nt Savanuah nnd Augusta, on the
second Monday In Jnnuary nnd June of each year, nnd
that tho Southern Judicial District lie added to tho fifth
Supreme Court, Judlclnt District, tn which said Supremo
Court ahull hereafter alt on tho first Monday in May and
November, ln each year at Mlllodgovlllo.
