AN ACT to nmond an act entitled nn act amendatory of
and lu addition lo tho vurlous acts, heretofore passed In
reference to tho city or Savannah, approved December
H:h, I61U, to allow an appeal to a special Jury In tho
Superior Court of Chatham County, from any decision
made under the sixth section of that act, and also to
K 'do for the registry of the names of tdl jxmnns on
to vote for Mayor and Aldermen of said city ; and
to prevent persons from voting for such Mayor and Al
dermen whoso names aro not registered.

Sac. 3d. Be it further enacted by the authority afore-
m'd, Tlwt the Clerk of the Common Council or tho
Illy of Savumiah, and in case of his sickness or ab
sence, any officer duly elected and appointed by the
Mayor and Aldermen or a majority of them, for that pur-
K shall o|>on a list for tho registration of voters on
Irst Monday In January In each and every year, which
lid shall be kept open until two o'clock P. fit. on the first
Monday In September ensuing when it ahull be Anally
and absolutely closed.

That it shall be the duty of such Clerk or olllcor, u|>on the
application In person, and not by proxy, of any i*crsou en
titled to vote as aforesaid, within the time prescribed for
ttwllat to bo kept open, to register the nanus of such per
son and deliver to him a certificate of such registry, --
leasing his name, numbor, and fhe date of registry.

aid once a week from tho Ilrst Monday in October to the
not Monday In December, and to affix and keep nn al
phabetical printed list of such names at the door of the
