AN ACT to amend an net entitled nn net amendatory of
nnd in addition to Iho various nets, heretofore passed III
referent* to the city of Savannah, approved December
Htli, 1840, to allow an nppcnl to a Special Jury in the
Superior Court of Chatham County, from any decision
made under tho sixth sectlou of that net, nml ulso to
K 'do for the registry of tho names or nil persons on
to vote for Mayor uud Aldermen of said city •, and
Li prevent persons from voting for such Mayor aud Al
dermen whoso mimes uro not registered.
Hie. 1. Ue it matted by the Senate and Haute of Ilepre-
intelivet of the State of Georgia, in General Aiicmb/y
mrt, end it it hereby enacted by the authority of the same,
That when any decision of Freeholders shall hereafter bo
made uuder tho sixth section of tho said act of December
tih. 184U, tho owner or owners of land affected by such
decision, shall havo tho right to appeal therefrom to a
special Jury in Uie Superior Court of Chatham county,
and tho verdict or such Jury shall be Ibrnl nnd conclusive
iu the premises.
Hie. 2. He it further enacted by the authority of

act nit persons shall bo qualified to vote at elections
for Mayor nnd Aldermen of tho city of Savannah nnd
the hamlets thereof who are citizens of tho United
Hialcs, have resided hi the State of Georgia for one

the corporate limits of Savnnnnli for one mouth Imraodl-
tlely preceding lliclr registration nnd contlnuo so to do
up to the llmo of election, who hnvo attained the ago of
twenty-one year#, hnvo paid nil city taxes or havo In
tlwlrbwn right ■ufllclent real estate to satisfy any tax ex
ecutions which may bo against them, who luivo mado all
n-lurui required by Iho ordinances of tho city, and
have been registered according to tho provisions of
this act.

said, That tho Work or tho Common Council of tho
Ctjr of Savannah, and in enso of his slcknuss or ab
sent*, any officer duly oloclod and np|ialritod by tho
Mayor and Aldermen or a majority or Ilium, for that pur
pose shall oj<cn a list for tho registration of voters on
the llrst Monday In January In each and every your, which
lid shall l*o kept open until two o'clock P. M. on tho llrst
Monday In September ensuing when it shall be Anally
auil absolutely closed.
Hie. 4. Be it further enacted by the authority aforeeaid,
That it shall bo the duty of such Clerk or ofllccr, upon tho

titled to vote ns aforesaid, within the time prescribed for
