In this preparation are strongly concentrated all the
medicinal properties or Sarsaparilla, combined with the
most effectual aids, the most salutary productions, the
most potent simples or ihevegetabto kingdom; and the
combination Is such that ono modifies and improves the
other, producing a compound differing entirely In Its cha
racter und properties from any other preparation, and
unrlvallod In Its operation on the system when laboring
under disowns. Tho manv well authenticated cures of
Scrotalo, of tho most malignant character, have given It
a wide and desorved celebrity. But It is not oloue In
Scrofula, nor in the doss of diseases to which It belongs,
that this preparation has been found beneficial. It Is a
specific In many diseases of the skin, and may be admin
istered with favorable results In nil; and It has been so
fully tested, not only by patterns themselves, but also by
physicians, that It has received their unqualified recom
mendations aud the approbation of tho public, and has
established, on Its own merits, n reputation for valur
and efficacy far superior to tho various compounds
bear ug the name of Baranparllln. Thn following testL
monlals are solcctod from among tho multitude or those
wo are dally receiving; and, for further confirmation, the
raider Is referred to thn Family Recipe and Medical Al
manac, furnished gratuitously by all our agents.
Tho following was sent to our agents, Messrs. W. A.

tho writer:

Messrs. Bands—Gentlemen:—About three months

peared on my face, and as It Is of rare occurrence—no
case at yet hnvlng como under tho care of our village

tress of tho disease on my face, although l tried reme
dies that had cured from Uio pimple on a child’s faco to
the galled breast of a canal horeo; and oven pullod out
my beard on tho sldo or my 'face and chin. A short time

recommendation, I bought ono bottle, und finding I re
ceived benoflt from It, 1 continued lls uso uuUl I am now
perfectly cured. 1 am led to bring this to your notice
gratuitously, from tho fact that tho disease Is not named
In the list of complaints for which Uio Bnritiparillu is a
remedy, and that you may bo able confidently to rocom

permanent benefit, but all the tlmo my gcuorul health

hod I not obtulnod roller through Uio medium of your In-

commenced using the Sursnpnrllla, I did not plnco much
confidence In its virtues; and this will not surprise yor
when you are Informed I hod tried more than filly diffo:

Association^^
I ADDRESS you,^u behslfo! lbs Association for tbs
Exhibition of Hie luduatry of sit Nations, to Invite
your oo-opsrsUon In fbo general objects of the enter
prise.
Tho building Intended for Uie purposes of Uie Exhibi
tion, constructed entirely of Iren end glass, will be, U Is
believed, the largest and most beautiful odlfloo In the
country. It coven, on the ground floor, two and a half
seres, and, with the galleries, the whole space la four
acres. The mason work Is far advanced, and It la to be
completed on Uie 21st October. Tile main part of Uie
lion work Is contracted for,and the casUngs are to be do
livered from the 16th October to lha Iftth of December.
We have U In our power, therefore, to assure you, os wo
bsvo already stated to tbo publle, that tbe ExblblUon
will certainly bo openod on tho 2d of May, 1853.
You are thus offered an unequalled opportunity ofex-
hlblUng to the vast population of tills country such of
your productions as you send us, freo of all charge, of
every kind whatever, from the time thst they are deliver
ed Into our custody uutll withdrawn.
The Association has already announced that their ob
jects are limited exclusively to exhibition. They have
no Interest whatevor, direct or Indirect, in tbo final dis
position to bo made of any article that may be displayed.
You are, no doubt, aware that we have received all the
asslstanco from Uio publlo authorities that we have de
sired. Tho City has given us tho lease or Reservoir
n lbo Stale hus granted us a charter, and tho Fedo*
nrittes have engaged that the building shall be
mado a Bonded Warehouse for tho purpose of receiving
foreign articles without paying duty ro long os they re
main In IL
We have tho strongest assurances of support from tbe
representatives, In this country, of the principal Foreign
Powora; and we are receiving dally confirmsUon of the
general Interest that tbe subject Is exciting among the
manufacturers of Europe. A large aumborof orllcJca of
high value are already scoured, and wo have no donbt
whatever that we shall havo a very extensive represent
ation of all the brandies of foreign Industry.
Tbe measures which we havo adopted will, thus, se
cure two great objects we havo desired to attain, vis:
the erection ofa building which will bo a groat architect
ural ornament to our city, and tho exhibition, In that
building, or the products of the industry of the Old
World; still, we snail fall far short or our mark if we do
not equally succeed in obtaining tbo falleat and most ex
tensive cooperation of American Industry. Our Exhibi
tion would be extremely defective—It would be very In
ferior, both In interest and In utility,to what we mean to
-rnko It—ir tho great resources or the people of our own
mnlnr were not folly displayed In It.
We believe it to bo unnecessary to urge upon you the
arguments on this subjoct which we are sure will —
sent themselves to tbo mind orevery Intelligent Aroer
producer—your position In the world of Amorican Indus-
try, your own Interest, nnd what It duo to on enterprise
devised and meant to bo carried out with no narrow
views, but on a large scale of public usefulness—all
entitle us to entertain tbe fullest conviction that you
will send 11s some of the choicest specimens of your
skill, and that you will urge your friends to do the samo.
We do not doubt that such will bo tho result when the
subject Is once brought fairly and folly before you; and
our only reason for addressing you thus particularly Is.
that the mailer may not bo overlooked In the press of
dally business, and that you may give the subject atU
lion In time to be folly prepared.
We enclose our General Circular, and also a form of
Application for Spnco. to which we beg your attention.
Copies of these, or of this letter, If you desire them to
send to your friends or correspondents, can bo bod st
Ibis office.
In ordor that wo may know on what extent of oo>oj
ration wo may depend, tho favor of a reply on or ‘
tho lit day of January is nskod,
I have tho honor to be,
With great respect,
Your obedient servant,
THEODORE SEDGWICK,

the aromatic Italian Juniper bcrry w whoscmoro vinous

and thus beemnea a concentrated tincture, or exquisite
flavor and aroma, altogether transcondaut In Its cordial
and medicinal properties, lo any Holluud Gin heretofore

Di Gravel, Gout nnd Rheumatism; In obstructions of
tbo Bladder and Kidneys Its effects are prompt, docldcd
and Invariably rcllablu. Aud it Is not only a remedy for
those mnladles, but In nil cases; In which they ore pro.
duced by drinking bad water, which Is, almost universal-

The distressing effect upon the Stomach, Bowels nnd
Bladder of travellers, now residents, nnd all persons un
accustomed lo them, produced by fho waters of nenrly
nil our great Inland rivers, like the Ohio, Mississippi and
Alabama, from the large quantity or decayed vegetable
matter coufailied in them, In a state or solution, Is well
known; as is also that of the waters of llniestoue regions,
In producing Gravel. Calculi and Stone in the Bladder.
Tho AUOM ATIO SCHIEDAM tiOHNAPPS Is au abso
lute corrective or all theso Injurious properties of bod

they occasion. It Is also found to bo a cure and preven
tive of Fever nnd Aguo, n complaint caused by the con
joint effects or vogctablo malaria In Uie atmosphere, nnd
vegetable putrescences In the waters or thoso districts In
which It principally prevails. The ARt iM ATIO SCHIE
DAM SCHNAPPS is cousequonlly In grent demand by
persons travelling or about to settle In those parts or tho
country, especially; os well ns by many in even 1 commu
nity where It has become known, on account of Its vari
ous other remedial properties.
In all coses or a dropsical tondoncy, It Is generally the
only remedy required, when ndoplal In the early stages
of thodlseuae. In Dyspeptic maladies, when taken In
proper quantities, as a diet drink, and especially at din-
ner, Ills found, by uniform experience, to bo eminently
efficacious In the most obstinate casco, when even the
best of the usual remedies have failed to afford more
than more temporary relief. In cases or Flatulency, It Is
an Immediate and Invaluable specific, nnd It msy bo ad

to young Infants, in all thoso paroxysms of griping palu
In the stomach aud bowols, to which they ore especially
sublect, as woll as hi tho colic of grown persons.

nover falls to relieve tho debility attendant upon pro

No. 22 Beaver*treet, N. Y.
In our last number wo accompanied the publication
of 11 circular on this sutyod, from our foflow-citizen
Udolpbo Wolfe, Esq M with a briof commentary, oxprus-
sivo of our own vlows. Slnco tbon we have boon em
ploying this agent, and thus far with favorablo results.
But we are In receipt or several communications on lha
snbjcct from medical men, which serve to show that Mr.
Wolfo’s Aromntlo Sclodam Schnapps Is very extensively
In use, and In tho hands or physicians, Is proving Itself
os a stimulating diuretic to bo eminently successful allot
other medication with this Intent had been tried In vain.
In one of tho cases thus reported abdominal dropsy bos
been cured, and the necessity of tapping averted; aud In
another a distressing case or grave), so called, has been
entirely removed by ibo passago of a calculus of con-
slderablo size, which Is ascribed to tbe use of only two
bottles of this articlo.
Wo know not tho object or Mr. Wolfo In — D „
his preparation by the singular uneuphodtous namo o
u Schnapps,” nor of his denominating It In his advertise
moots, tbo u concentrated Tincture of Juniper,” Instead
of perpetuating its ancient title of llollaud Gin. It is
truo that ho admits It to bo nothing else than the latter
articlo In its pure state, unadulterated by uoxlous drugs,
nnd hence ho contradistinguishes it from Gin of com
merce, nearly all of which, as It well known, Is manu
factured here and eltowhere from Interior whlskoy and
