Avouhta, Ga., $bi>tkmbzr29. 1852, I Steam Planing Mills. J Z>f«r Sir .—You ask mo for my opinion of “ Silver’s Mineral Paints,” which you have put on my Machine Shop and Planing Mill. I give vou with pleniure my ftiU and hearty recommendation or It ns a preventive of fire communicating from chimneys or from adjoining build ings. The Paint which you put on my roofs, has novr become as hard as slatk, and i feel ns suettra from fire, lu this direction, as ii possible. A few weeks after tho\ „ . roofs lind been painted, I made nn experiment on two or - three shingles by placing them in tho furnace under tho boilers; the result was, Ilia, the portion uncovered wn* entirely consumed, whllo tho painted oartwa* apparent ly sound, though upon examination the wood was found to be charred ; tho pnint, however, was jrntM and but little blistered. I consider this as severe.a lest as>our Pnint can be pttl to, aud under the circumstances J do' not hesitate to commend Has an invaluable preventlya against fire. V . Respectfully, *c. . ,n > - .
