PAIN KILLEK.
WE BEG LEAVE TO CALL THE ATTEN
TION o$ th® public to this long tested and
unrivalled
FAMILY MEDICINE.
Th* PAIN KILLER i* a portly vegetable
compound ; and while it i* a moat efficient Rem
edy for Pain, it i» a perfectly *afe medicine, even
in the moat unskillful hand*, for
SUMMER fiOMPPAINT,
or any other form es Bowel Diaeaae In children
or adult*. It il an almoat certain oure, and has,
without donbt, been more succeasfiil in curing
the vtriou* kinds of
CHOLERA
than any other kuewn remedy, or even the moat
skillful physioian. In Indio, Africa and China,
where this dreadful disease is ever more or less
prevalent, the
PAIN KILLER
is considered by the native*, as well as European
resident* in those climates,
A SURE REMEDY.
As * Tonio for the Stomach, it is unrivalled.
A few doses will relieve severe cases of
INDIGESTION,
and it is often a perfect cure for
DYSPEPSIA
in its most aggravated forms. Its tonic and
stimulating properties, arousing the system to
vigorous action, render it a most effectual
curs for
COLDS AND COUGHS,
when used according to directions.
For external application, it is unsurpassed by
any medical preparation known.
RHEUMATISM
and Neuralgic Affections aro quickly relieved
and of'on cured by it. Any soreness in the
Muscles or Joints can be relieved by its applica
tion. It cures instantly the most violent
TOOTHACHE.
It should always be kopt near at hand, to bo
used in cases of severe
BURNS OR SCALDS.
If applied immediately, according to directions,
it will givo instant relief, and prevent blistering.
It is peculiarly adapted to the wants of
SEAMEN,
and persons making sea voyages, and no vessel
should sail without a supply of it. One captain
writes us:
“I have made several voyages—often with
emigrants—and though I koop a good medicine
ebest, and have several times had a good deal of
sickness on board, I have found the Pain Killer so
efficient in all cases as to entirely preclude the
use of all other medicines.”
One positive proof of its efficacy is, that the
sales have constantly increased, and wholly
upon its own merits. The effect of the Pain
Killer upon the patient, when taken internally
in cases of Colds, Congh, Bowel .Complaints,
Cholera, Dysentery, and other affections of tho
system, has been truly wonderful, and has won
for it a name among the medical preparations
that can never be forgotten. Its success in re ;
moving Pain, as an external remedy, in cases of
Burns, Bruises, Sores, Sprains, Cut.', Sting of
Insects, and other causes of suffering, has se
cured for it such a host of testimony, as an
almost infaliiblo remedy, that it will be handed
down to posterity as one of the greatest medical
discoveries of the nineteenth century. The
magioal effects of tho Pain Killer, when taken
or used according to directions, are certain.
You have only to be sure that you buy the
genuine article and adhere to the directions in
its use, and you will admit its wonderful medi
cinal properties.
Tho genuine Perry Davis’ Pain Killer is now
put up in pannel bottles with the words Davis
Vegetable Pain Killor blown in tho glass ; and
with two steel engraved labels on each bottlo—
one an excellent likeness of Perry Davis, the
original inventor of the medicino, the ether a
steel engraved note of hand—none others can be
relied upon as genuine.
The Pain Killer is sold by Druggists and
Grocers. PERRY DAVIS A SON,

Opinions of the Press.
“Musical Festivals” several times postponed,
compelling parcliasers of tickets to wait mouths
jor the distribution, has impaired public confidence
n such affairs. The only fair system of distribu
tion is the old aud popular one of Sealed Tickets,
stating the prize, which will be delivered immedi
ately, on payment of the one dollar. That is the
plan of if. BARTON & CO., at 599 Broadway,
tho most attractive place of the kind now iu oper
ation. They are doing the largest business, and
deserve their success. You can not draw a
SIOO,OOO farm there, but hnve a reasonable chance
for a good prize, aa wo know many- that have been
drawn, ana the firm is reliable. — Mamina Adver
tiser, Oct. 25th, 1867.
The New York Gift Company are distributing
many valuable prizes. We have examined their
manner of doing business and know them to be a
fair deating firm. Their plan is more satisfactory
than “Presentation Festivals,” as they draw every
day, and the subscriber need not pay for the prize
drawn, unless snited.— Gazelle, Oct. 2-lth, 1867.
The Gift establishment of 11, Barton cfc Cos., at
599 Broadway, is daily attracting crowds of visi
tors to witness the drawing process. The invest
ment is but 25 cents for the chance, and the prize
drawn, if satisfactory, is immediately delivered
for one dollar. A friend of ours, last week, drew
a *SOO prize, which he promptly received.—Trans
