Official Organ of the V. S- Government.
FRIDAY MORNING February T. 1868
NOBLEMEN.
Tb« noblest man I know on earth,
Aro boo whoM hand* aro brown wilb toil;
When, backed by so ancestral graves,
Haw down the wood* and till tbo 1011,
And win thereby a prouder fame
Than follow* king or warrior'* name.
The working men, what'or their teak,
To earre the atone or bear the hod
They wear upon their hone*t brow*
The royal stamp and seal of God !
And brighter are the drop* of *weat
Than diamond* In aeoronet!
God bleaa the noble working men,
Who rear the oitie* of the plain,
Who dig the mine* and build tho ships,
And drive the commerce of the main.
God bleaa them ! for their swarthy hauds
Have wrought the glory of onr lands.

Opinions of the Press.
“Mnsicai Festivals” several times postponed,
compelling purchasers of tickets to wait months
for the distribution, has impaired public confidence
n such affairs. The only fair system of distribu
tion is the old and popnlar one of Sealed Tickets,
stating the prize, which will he delivered immedi
ately, on payment of the one dollar. That is the
plan of H. fiARTON & CO., at 599 Broadway,
the most attractive place of the kind now in oper
ation. Tltoy are doing tile largest business, and
deserve their success. You can not draw a
SIOO ,000 farm there, but have a reasonable chance
for a good prize, as we know manv that have been
drawn, ana the firm is reliable. —Morning Adver
tiser, Oct. ’2sth, 1867.
The New York Gift Company are distributing
many valuable prizes. We nave examined their
manner of doing business and know them to be a
fair dealing firm. Their plan is more satisfactory
than “Presentation Festivals,” as they draw every
day, and the subscriber need not pay for the prize
drawn, unless suited.— Gazette , Oct. 21 th, 18G7.
The Gift establishment of 11. Barton & Cos., at
599 Broadway, is daily attracting crowds of visi
tors to witness the drawing process. The invest
ment is hut 25 cents for the chance, ami the prize
drawn, if satisfactory, is immediately delivered
for one dollar. A friend of ours, last week, drew
a SSOO prize, which he promptly received.—Trans
cript, Sept. 29 th, 1867.
