VEGETABLE
PAIN KILLER.
WE BEG LEAVE TO CALL THE ATTEN
TION of the public to this long tested and
unrivalled
FAMILY MEDICINE.
The PAIN KILLER is a purely vegetable
compound; and while it is a most efficient Rem
edy for Pain, it is a perfectly safe medicine, even
in the most unskillful hands, for
SUMMER OOMPPAINT,
or any other form of Disease in cbildron
or adults. It is an almost ccrtaiu cure, and has,
without doubt, boon more successful in curing
the various kinds of
CHOLERA
than any other kuown remedy, or even tho most
skillful physician. la India, Africa and China,
where this dreadful disease is ever more or less
prevalent, the
PAIN KILLER
is considered by tho natives, as well a3 European
residents in those climates,
A SURE REMEDY.
Asa Tonic for tho Stomach, it is unrivalled.
A few doses will reliove severe cases of
INDIGESTION,
ami it is often a porfcct cure for
DYSPEPSIA
in its most aggravated forms. Its tonic and
stimulating properties, arousing the system to
vigorous action, render it a most effectual
cure for
COLDS AND COUGIIS,
when used according to directions.
For external application, it is unsurpassed by
any medical preparation known.
RHEUMATISM *
and Neuralgic Affections arc quickly relieved
aud oPcn cured by it. Any soreness in the
Muscles or Joints can be relieved by its applica
tion. It euros instantly the most violent
TOOTHACHE.
It should always bo kept near at hand, to bo
used in cases of sovoro
BURNS Oil SCALDS.
If applied immediately, according to directions,
it will give instant rolie!', and prevent blbtering.
It is peculiarly adapted to the wants of
SEAMEN,
and persons making sea voyages, and no vessel
should sail without a supply of it. One captain
writes us:
“I have made so rural voyages—ofton with
emigrants—and though I keep a good medicine
chest, and have several times hail a good deal ol
sickness on board, I have found the Pain Killer so
efficient in all cases as to entirely preclude the
uso of all other medicines.”
One positive proof of its efficacy is, that the
sales have constantly iucrcascd, and wholly
upon its own merits. Tho effect of the Pain
Killer upon the patient, when taken internally
in eases of Colds, Cough, Bowel Complaints,
Cholera, Dysentery, and other affections of the
system, has been truly wonderful, and has won
for it a name among the medical preparations
that can never bo forgotten. Its success in re
moving Pain, as an external remedy, iu cases of
Turns, Bruises, Sores, Sprains, Cuts, .Sting of
Insects, and other causes of has se
cured for it such a host of as an
almost infallible remedy, ibat it will be handed
down to posterity as one of tho greatest medical
discoveries of the nineteenth century. The
magical effects of the Pain Killer, when taken
or used according to directions, are certain.
You have only to be sure that yeu buy the
genuine article and adhere to tho directions in
its u.-e, and you will admit its wonderful medi
cinal properties.
The genuine Perry Davis’ Pain Killer is now
put up iu panncl bottles with the words Davis
Vegetable Pain Killer blown in the glass ; and
with two steel engraved labels on each bottle—
one an excellent likeness of Terry Davis, the
original inventor of the medicine, the other a
steel ongraved note of hand—none others can be
relied upon as genuine.

A. J. Roberts 4* Cos., Atlanta, Ga.:
Gentlemen—l am well pleased wdtlithe .result
of the use of the “ Double Rcjincd Roudrette"
on my crops. I tried it on both corn and cotton,
and am satisfied wherever it was applied the yield
was more than double what it would have been
without it. I regret exceedingly my not using it
more extensively the present year, but will try
to make up my loss by purchasing a larger
quantity next spring. I regard it as the cheapest,
most reliable, and easiest managed fertilizer with
in my knowledge, and cheerfully recommend it (as
I have tried it thoroughly) to the farmers of this
section, and particularly to those planting cotton,
from the fact of its causing it to mature from ten
days to two weeks earlier than it would witliou
the use of-the PoudreUe. I also used it on my
garden, and found it of much benefit to all kinds of
plants.
Verysrespectfully, etc.,
G. 8. OGLESBY.

The Double Refined Poiuirette is operating like
a charm on my Crop, amt attracting universal
attention from all beholders. I am already
satisfied that it is the ctieapest and surest renovator
of our worn-out lands.
High Shoals, Ga., October 4, 1867.
James R. Dey, Esq.:
Sir—The Double Refined Poiuirette I bought
tor two other parties in connection with myself—
one of them qaed it on cotton aud corn, and thinks
it answered finely; the other put it on cotton, on
very poor ground, and thinks it doubled his crop.
I used it on corn. It answered finely, and was
thought uy the band that cultivated the crop to
be fully equal to Rhode's Super Phosphate. 1
also used it. on about nil acre of cotton , and lam
clearly of opinion that it is the best and cheapest
fertilizer in use, and I expect to order several
tons this winter.
Yours, very respectfully,
ISAAC POWELL.
’EllavLlle, Schley Cos., Ga., Oct. 4,1867.
The Double Refined Poiuirette purchased of
you last Spring, I think, increased my crop of
cotton 150 pounds per acre ; put it upon worn out
pine land, at the rate of 200 pounds per acre,
drilled in with cotton seed.
Yours, etc., S. MONTGOMERY.
Salisbury, N, C., Aug. 10, 1867
James R Dev, Esq.:
Dear Sir—l can safely say that your Double
Refined l’oudrette is far superior to any fertilizer
for Cotton ; for I have given it a fair trial this
season.
Yours, JEHU FOSTER, Jr.
Savannah, Ga Sept. 25,18(57.

Dear Sir—l used tlie Double Refined Poudrette
bought of you last Spring on Corn I think it
increased the yield one half. 1 consider it an
excellent manure.

Ridgeway, S. C , Sept. 21, 1807.
Mr. James It. Dev. ;
Sir—l applied the Double Refined Poudrette
by itself, and in combination with other fertilizers,
on COTTON, and am pleased with it; so much
so that it is my present intention to purchase a
larger supply of you next year to apply to my
Cotton crop.
Yours, very respectfully,

our experience in tiie use of yourimproved Poiid

ent season lias been one quite unfavorable to tho

Several kinds of manures were used by us,
with the exception of your Poudrette , with little

WHERE THE POUDRETTE WAS USED
IT GAVE US NEAR HALF A BALE MORE
