Brag | What a terrible quantity of brag ia l oing used by tbe Tories in Georgia. They'd tell you more consummate untruths in a single column than one could digest in a month. Uskl «ahl «ak I If Ben. Hill can’t give the people a surteit of eternal gab, there never was a man in Georgia qualified for the position. The PoelMaeterstlGrlffiU'tta., Had better, we think, attend to the legitimate duties of his office, and let politics alone for tho future, in his business communications, lie will have his hands full if he will do this duty. . A Word (o ionic other Poilnisitrra in Georgia. Some of you had better mind your ‘‘P's’) and “Q’s. We have an eye on you, and the first thing you know, one of “ those days,” we’ll get after you with n sharp stick, sure. Col. Mullock’* Addresi. The address ot Col. R. B. Bullock, the Constitutional Candidate for Governor wil be found in this issue of our paper. Read it citizens of Georgia, and see how teisely written each paragraph is, how manly its sentiments, and how clearly defined is his position. There is uo verbiage, no multi plication of words, no attempt to evade the truth by the subterfuges so often resorted to. We say again, read and ponder it—read it every day until you will know it by heart: “ Bully Bottom.” 0, Bottom, thou art ohanged. What do I see on thoo? Bor.—What do you sco? You see an ass’s head of your own, do you ? [Shakeaptare. The Philistines upon the street hud a nufl ri'-r., imsuijiNff, ■eteiiii!j.iiu: J i r> i iiti the colored population ; but, from what we learned, Shakespeare's “Bottom” was again personified, and oh, my! how some folks got chawed up! “K. K- K.” These Kabalistic Karacters have arrived in town at last. A wonderful combination of hieroglyphics are upon the posters. A friend suggests that, without a reference to the Sanscrit or Chaldee, he has come to the conclusion that these letters only mean Kill Kenny Rats, and that if th'ey are severely left alone, like the famous Kat story of our childhood, there will soon be nothing lelt but talcs. “White man's Paper.” Somewhere away down in lower Georgia, a Tory is publishing a paper under the above head. If he is a white man, then we think he needs no such evidence to prove it, nor the exhibition of such bad taste in selecting a name. If he is a painted sepulchre, then the people ought to know it. Good Sense- Vote for .the Constitution and for Bullock, read your bibles and say your prayers regu larly, and above all things don’t forget to take a reliable Republican paper—ours of course—pay for it, and tlieu your consciences will be clear, your sleep sweet, your diges ton good, and your State saved from ruin. Advertise. With a daily increasing circulation, ad vertisers may rest assured that the National Republican is the best medium for adver tising that is issued in this city. And as the Republicans who trade in Augusta have a good deal ot money to spend, it will proba bly be only necessary to say “a word to tbe wise,” etc. PliWforra. Has tbe Georgia Obstructionist Party a platform? Where is it? We should like to see it? They remind us of an old tellow in ante helium days—ask kirn what he was was advocating—what principle of liberty had been violated by the general Govern ment ? His parrot cry was, “ ’Sistance, ’sis tance 1” Ei«Korcrnor Brown at Kingiton. Passionate demonstrations, such as that exhibited at Kingston, on the 20th instant, in relation to this gentleman, are only the outcroppings of the mean, proscriptive spirit which animates the body of the Tory party of Georgia. Night-owls are dirty fowls, every one knows. Circulation of this Paper. The circulation of the National Repub lican has increased upward of 1,000 copies since the campaign commenced. It goes everywhere, and all who want to get their money’s worth had better take heed and send in their advertisements. We take Republi can greenbacks for all dues—never refused them. .♦ • Correspondence. Wo are permitted to extract the following from a private letter received from Talbot ton, March 23: “As to Col. Bullock, whose words and acts I deemed it my duty to scrutiuize during the three months’ session of the Convention, under very peculiar circumstances, allow me to say that 1 heard from him no unkind or superfluous words There was the same mauly bearing, the same rare equanimity of mind I so much admire, and of which I shall love to speak.” Soluble Pacific Guano. We neglected, on yesterday, to call atten tion to the advertisement of Messrs. J. O. Mathewson & Cos., Selling Agents, Augusta, Ga., of the above valuable Guano. From numerous letters we have seen, and from the endorsement of Soluble Manures of such men as Dickson, of Hancock county, whose experience with such manures is extensive, we should say that the public would do well to secure their supplies, and we guarantee, from the well known responsibility of the Agents here, that a genuine article will be obtained. There can be no doubt of the value of Soluble over Insoluble Guanos or manures of any kind ; for in the one case the return of 100 per cent, is made in the year; and in the other, by instalments of a very small per cent, per year for ten or twenty years. The cloftr profit, at 11 cents per pound, was $24.11 per acre, or 402 per cent, on the money invested. A compound of Pacific with Peruvian Guano gave 433 per cent., being ahead of any of the combinations used in my plat. Respectfully, etc., E. M. PENDLETON, M. D. meeting al Tkomun, Vonerdajr. ' The “Philistines up the street” in n notice yesterday, speaks of “V. M. Bars**,’ Esq., (supposed whit*”) oa a speaker. Now ia'nt that nice to come from such a source ? Mr. Barnes was once thoodilor of the Chronicle iff Sentinel, and in thoso days there was some decency and good sense In its columns, as every one knows who read the pajicr: as Mrs. Partington would say—“comparisons are odorous,” but tho stench all comes from the “native Georgians 4 ' who claim to be so pure. “Native Georgians.” Some gcutleman sent a “few words” to the Philistines up the street for publication, where it was declined for the reason that they could not support the claims “of either ot the Radical candidates,” etc.-even if one of them was "a native Georgian.” Now; it is very well known that these Philistines bad upon all their bills and business cards, the words: “ THE EDITORS ARE NATIVE UIORGIAXS,” (Query—What are the Local and Associate Editors?) ns a claptrap to catch gome peo ple; and surely, if they mean what they say and print it —why not publish their own emanations and stick to their own colors, especially as they have such an enormous (?) circulation. Kii-Ii iiix Klan. The name of this organization is taken from the “click” in cocking a gun or pistol. It means blood. It means that rebel des peradoes are organizing against thu govern ment. It means that honest unsuspecting people are to be deceived into allowing their names to be enrolled against the govern ment, nnder the name of a white man’s party'. Macon, Oa, March 17.—The Democratic Central Executive Committee adjourned this morning. The following regtiUitkm# comprise the material part of actiou: Resolved, That for reasons founded alike on tho illegitimacy of its origin, and it* odious character, we urge upon onr friends throughout the State, sternly to oppose, fey all lawful means, 911 the Hustihgs and at the Polls, a ratification of the in6truuugit recently promulgated at Atlanta as a Coni stitutiou lor Georgia. But, Whereas, The Atlanta Constitution may be imposed upon us, notwithstanding “our opposition thereto, and, in that Cvent, ?t will be of vital importance to all the people of Georgia to have good and sound men to ad minister the State Government under it; and Whereas, The Hon. Augustus Reese has declined the candidacy for Governor of Georgia, tendered him by th)3 Committee, and it is deemed impracticable, from want of time, to hold a nominating Convention, in which all parts of the State shall be fully: and fairly represented ; and Whereas, Owing to disfranchisements and other causes, numerous and serious embarrassments surround the question yf a strict party nomination for Governor at the present time, for theso reasons. Resolved, That the State Central Com mittee of the Democratic* party deem it unadvisablfl to make any nomination for Governor at the approaching election, and advise and urge the Democrats and Con servatives of the State to oast their votes as a unit for the independent candidate now in the field, the [Hon, David Irwin. We are satisfied that he holds no views inimical to the honor and welfare of Georgia. We confide in his ability, integrity, and devotiou to his State, and iu these have a guarantee, that if elected, ho will admiuister the Government solely in the interests of the white people. Resolved, That our friends throughout the State are urged to bring into the field, in every County and Senatorial District, good and true men for the legislature, in every candidates who are registered we are advised that none others will btr&Hcwed to take their seats.
