Impatient woman, aa you wait
In cheerful homca t» night to hear
The aeund of steps that soon or late,
Shall come as music to your ear.
Forget yourselves a little while,
And think In pity or the pain
Os women who will never smile
To hear a coming step again.
With babes that in their cradle sleep,
Or cling to you in perfect trust,
Thick or the mothers left to weep
Their babies lying in the dust.
And when the step you wait for comes,
And all your world is Tull of light,
0 ! women, safe in happy homes,
Pray for all lonesome souls to-night!

Healing tlie Sick
BY THU
LAYING ON OF HANDS,
OB
ANIMAL MAGNETISM!
PROFESSOR ROBERTS, BATE OF NEW
Orleans and Memphis, the great Magnetic
Healer, will treat all manner of Diseases and
Afflictions, not incurable, at the AUGUSTA
HOTEL, Augusta, Ga., until Mav Ist, 1868.
By Animal Magnetism we claim that the dis
eased and deranged action of the nervous and
vacular svatems are restored to a perfect equilib
rium much more readily than by any other means
known to the medical world, either in the present
or the past ages. “Nature must do the healing,”
is the saying of every sensible and honest physi
cian, and that “all we can do in case of Bickneas
is to aid Nature.” This Prof. Roberts aims to do
by the great science of Animal Magnetism, and
that, too, without drugs! It is the only system of
the medication that l-as God as its authority and
example, or that can be sustained by science or
common sense.
Consultation free. Letters to be answered must
be accompanied with a stamp. For testimonials
see or send for circular.
Prof. Roberts treats successfully the following
named diseases, together with many other forms
of human maladies not herein specified, viz:
All diseases of the Brain, Rheumatism, Nervous
Debility, Nenralgia, Weak Spine, Curvature of
the Spine, Inflamed Sore Eyes, Paralysis, Weak
Eyes, Partial Blindness, Dropsical Tumors,Ulcers,
Scrofula in its varied forms, Consumption, Dia
betes, Weakness of the Limbs, Bronchitis, Loss of
Voice, Palpitation of the Heart, Diseases of the
Liver, Kidneys, and Bowels, Dyspepsia, Falling
of the Womb, Suppressed Menses, Catarrh, all
kinds ot Sexual Diseases, Impurities of the Blood,
etc., etc. Paralysis and Deafness are the most
uncertain of all "diseases to cure, although patients
alUicted even with these terrible maladies will be
more or less benefitted, if not cured, by Magnetic
Treatment.

Augusta, Ga., March 12,1808.
I hereby certify that I have been partially para
lyzed for four years. Four months of that time I
was not able to make a step, or even so much as
move one of my toes on either foot, aud was en
tirely destitute of feeling in my legs.
I was examined by forty eight Confederate
Army Surgeons, all pronouncing me incurable—
having Curvature of the Spine, which produced
paralysis. I commenced taking treatment of Pro
fessor Roberts, March 4th, 1868, and now, after
taking nine treatments, by Animal Magnetism, I
feel like a “new creature!” I can now stand up,
and t calk any desired distance, without crutches
or canes, which was utterly impossible Jor more
than four years before seeing Dr. Roberts.
For reputation and responsibility, I refer those
interested to Mr. W. A. Ramsey. Mr. Edward
Rodgers, Mr. JohuM. Clark, Mr. Nicholas Young
blood, and Mr. John Houston, all of Augusta, Ga.
My address is Edgefield Courthouse. S. C.

Augusta, Ga., Feb. 29th, 1868.
This is to certify that I have been treated by
Prof. Roberts for a dropsical tumor in the left side,
with which I have been afflicted for the last seven
years, an,d am confident that I am entirely cured,
not having experienced any of the unpleasant
symptoms whina I did before the treatment, and
tnis by animal magnetism.

This certifies that I have been a great sufferer
with Rheumatism for five years, mv left ankle
being mncli swollen, very stiff and painful. I
was treated twice only bv Dr. Roberts, at the
Augusta Hotel, February 18th and 20th, 1868, and
now have not one symptom of Rheumatism or
pain in my body. All the medicine I lmd taken
seemed to make me worse, aud I never had
any relief until 1 was treated magnetically. People
may laugh ; but I have no more rheumatic
paiui -that’s so.

Atlanta, Ga., Feb. 12,1868.
I have been a hopeless invalid for the weary
space of ten or twelve years, laboring under a
combination of dreadful diseases which have long
since been pronounced incurab. e. I had of late
grown rapidly worse, until three days since I was
brought to this city on a bed, being entirely unable
to sit up, for the purpose of consulting the far
famed l’rof. Roberts. After the first treatment,
which was only a few minutes. I was free of ali
pain and able to walk anywhere, aud to day I feel
so well and strong I can scarcely realize that I
am the same being who was so feeble and suffer
ing so much throe days since. I can never express
my heartfelt gratitude to the man whose wonder
ful skill has thus relieved me of so much inexpres
sible suffering. May God bless the Doctor
wberevei lie goes, is my humble prayer.

To whom it may concern: This will certify that,
for eight months past I have been afflicted
with Neuralgia in the right side of the face, aud
most, of the time suffered most excruciating pain,
during which time 1 have sought relief in vain
from the regular medical profession ; and I further
certify that I was relieved the first time I was
treated by Prof. Roberts, aud apparently pernia
nently cured after being treated the third time. I
most confidently recommend him to all similarly
afflicted. J. B. LANIER.
Atlanta, Ga., March 7th, 1868.
Dr.Jt.lt. Roberts .- —This is to certify that I
have, for live years past, been afflicted with
goitre. Physicians pronounced it incurable, and
from them 1 obtained no relief, but upon the con
trary continued to grow worse, until treated by
yon four times, by Animal Magnetism, in January
aud February, 1868, since which time it has almost
disappeared, and I am entirely relieved from suf
fering witli it.
I am very kindly, yours, forever,

This certibcs that 1 have suffered exceedingly
with u large tumor on the left side of my fuce for
twenty-live years. Boring this ago of torture it
lias becu removed twice by painful surgical opera
tions, which only seemed to aggravate its growth.
When Dr. Roberts came to Atlanta I took treat
meat bv Animal Magnetism, and have been
greatly benefitted bv hiui—in point of truth, more
than by the entire twenty-seven ‘Tegular" doctors
who have attended me.
Under the treatment, the tumor softened aud re
duced m size, the hearing in my left ear lias been
restored, and my left arm, which was almost use
less, lias been restored to its original strength. I
can now sleep on my left, eide-a thing I could not
do for many years before. I firmly believe if I
could contiuue the treatment the tumor would
entirely disappear. Mas. J. G. McLIN.
