REPUBLICAN NATIONAL NOMI NATING CONVENTION. The undersigned, constituting the National Committee designated by the Convention held at Baltimore on the 7th of June, 1861, do appoint that a National Convention of the Uniqp Republican party be held at the city of Chicago, 111., on Wednesday, the 20th day of May next, at 12 o’clock in., for the purpose of nominating candidates for the offices of President and Vice President of the United States. Each State in the United States is to be represented in said Convention by the number of delegates equal to twice the number of Senators and Repre sentatives to which each State is entitled in the National Congress. We invite the cooperation of all citizens who rejoice that oar great civil war has happily terminated in the discomfiture of the rebellion ; who would hold fast the unity and integrity of the Republic, and maintain its paramount right to defend to (he utmost its own existence, whether im periled by secret conspiracy or armed force; of ail friends of an economical ad ministration of the public expenditure, of the complete extirpation of the principles and policy of s'avery, and of the speedy reorganization ol those States whose Gov ernments were destroyed by the Rebellion, and their permanent restoration to their proper practical relations with the United States in accordance with the true princi ples of republican government. Marcus L. Ward, of New Jersey, Chairman. John O. Defuses, of Indiana,-Secretary. Washington, De 0.41. 1867. td PERRY DAVIS’ Vevetablk PAIN KILLER. Prices, 25 cents, 50 cents, and $1 per Mile. I’rbry Davis’ Pain Killer —We have often spoken of this (treat medicine in terms of very high praise, and we bare as often felt that all we could say in its favor would not do it full justice. It it one of those medicines of which we can speak—and speak decisively—from experience ; for we bare repeatedly taken it, and invariably with the best results and greatest satisfaction. We always keep it on hand, ready for an emer gency, and we regard it not only as one of the very beat medloines in use for various ills, bu< as one of the cheapest, also. Its cost, by the way—that ia, the cost of tbe ingredients of which it ia eomposed--has been considerably increased, but the price of the medicine has been but very little advanced. It is not likely that the popu larity of Davis' Pain Killer will in any measure decrease, or that the demand for it will in Ihe slightest degree decline, until some other specific Tor allaying pain and curing var'ons complaints for which it is so generally used, shall be dis covered, of equal potency with it—of which there seein< to be but little probability. Asa remedy for stomach complaints, such as dysen- Uiry, diarrhcea, etc., the Pain Killer is, without doubt, unsurpassed, and every where most de servediy in demand. One, two, or three doses of a teaspoonful each, in a wine glass of mild and water With a little sugar, have repeatedly within onr knowledge, effectually cured serious trouble of this kind. Judgment should undoubt edly be need in checking certain stages of diar rhoea too suddenly; but taken at the proper time, the Pain Killer will aet like a charm, and frequently cure when nothing else will.— Prnel.
