Day be my night!
Night hath no star t« rival with her eye* ;
Night hath no pcae* like hi* who lies
Upon her borom while!
She did transmute
This, nr poor fell, into a paradise,
Gorgeour with blo»*oming lip* and dewy eye*;
And all her beauty’* IY«lt.
Nor dull, nor gray
Seems to mine eyes this dim and wintry morn ;
Ne’er did the rosy banners of the dawn
Ilerald a brighter day.
Come, beauteous day !
Come ' or in sunny light or storm eclipsed !
Bring me the immortal Summer of her lips ;
Then h tve thy way !

Perry Davis' Pain Killer.—Wo have often
spoken of this great modicinc in terms of verj T
high praise, and wo havo as often toll that all wc
could say in its favor would not do it full justice,
ft is ono of thoso medicines of which wc can
speak—and speak decisively—from experience;
for we have repeatedly taken it, and invariably
with the best results and greatest satisfaction.
Wc always keep it on hand, ready for an emer
gency, and wo regard it not only as one of tbc
very best medicines in use for various ills, bu
as ono of tho cheapest, also. Its cost, by the
way—that is, tho cost of the ingredient* of which
it is composed—has been considerably increased,
but tho price of tho medicine has been but vorv
little advanced. Il is not likely that tho popu
larity of Davis' Pain Killer will in any measure
decrease, or that the demand for it will in tho
slightest dogreo decline, until some other specific
l»»r allaying pain and curing various complaints
for which it is so generally used, shall be dis
covered, of equal potency with it—of which
there seem* to bo but little probability. As a
remedy tor stomach complaints, such as dyson
tcry, diarrhoea, etc., tho Pain Killer is, without
doubt-, unsurpassed, and every where most de
servedly in demand. One, two, or throe doses,
ol a tcaspoonful each, in a wino glsss of milk
ami water, with a little sugar, have repeatedly,
within our knowledge, effectually cured serious
trouble of this kind. Judgment should undoubt
edly be used in checking certain stages of dim*
rluvA too suddenly; hut taken at the proper
time, the Pain Killer will act like a charm, ami
frequently cure when nothing else will.— /Yori*

X medicine enjoys, ia derived from Us cures, me.ny
of which are truly marvellous. Inveterate cases
of Scrofulous disease, where the system seemed
saturated with corruption, have, heeii purified and
cured by it. Scrofulous affections and disorders,
which were aiftrruvAtcd hy the scrofulous conta
mination until they were painfully afflicting, have
been radically cured in such meat numbers in
almost every section of the country, that the public
scarcely need to be informed of its virtues or uses.
Scrofulous poison is one of the most destructive
enemies of our race. Often, this unseen and unfelt
tenant of the organism undermines the constitution,
and invites the attack of enfeebling or fatal diseases,
without exciting a suspicion of its presence.
Again, it seems to breed infection throughout the
body, and then, on some favorable occasion,
rapidly develops into one or other of its hideous
forms, either on the surface or among the vitals.
In the latter, tubercles may be suddenly deposited
iu the lungs or heart, or tumors formed iu the liver,
or it shows its presence, hy eruptions on the skin,
or foul ulcerations on some part of the body,
lienee the occasional u?e of a bottle of this S\ksa
raiti ll a is advisable, even when no active symp
toms of disease appear. Persons afflicted with the
following complaints generally find immediate
relief, and, at length, cure, by the nseofthiaSi-RS v
pakii.l v : Sr Anthony's Fire. Rose or Erysipelas
Tetter, Salt Rheum, Scald Head. Ringworm, Sore
ICyes, Sore Kars, and other eruptions or visible
forms of Scrolulous disease A Iso in the more con
cealed forms, as Dyspepsia. Dropsy. Heart
Disease, Fits, Kpilepsy. Neuralgia, and the various
Ulcerous alfeetions e* the muscular and nervous
systems.
* Syphilis or Venereal and Mercurial Diseases are
cured hy it, though ,\ longtime is required for sub
dning tfiese obstinate maladies by any medicine.
Hut long continued use of this medicine will cure
the complaint. I.eiieorrluea or Whites, Uterine
Ulcerations, and Female Diseases, are commonly
soon relieved and ullimatelv cured by its purifying
and invigorating effect. Minute Dircotione for
each ease found in our Almanac, supplied gratis.
Rheumatism and Gout, when caused by aecuinu
bilious of extraneous matters in the blood, yield
quickly to it, as also Liver (.'omplainta. Torpidity,
i-ongestion or Inflammation of the Liver, ami
Jaundice, when timing, as they often do, from tlie
rankling poisons in the blood. This S aiihaf a

vigor oft ho system. Those who arc Languid ami
Lielless. Despondent, Sleepless, and troubled
with Nervous Apprehensions or Fears, or any of
the affections symptomatic of Weakness, will find
immediate relict and convincing evidence ol its
resortulive power upon trial.
