Providence, R. !.:■ Dear Sirs—During a residence of some ten years as a, Missionary in Siam and China, 1 found your vegetable Pain Killer a most valuable remedy for that fearful sconce, Um Cholera. In administering the medicine, I found it most effectual to give a teasfiooiifid of Pain Killer in a gill of hot wrier sweetened with sugaf; then, after about fifteen minutes, begin to give a table spoonful ol the same nature every inihule until relief was obtained. APPV ii°t applications to the extremities. Bathe Mie stomach wifli Ilin Killer, clear and nib the limbs briskly. I Consider it a very valuable medicine, and always Keep it on hand. I have travelled a good deal snice 1 have been in ' Kansas, and never without taking it with me. In my practice I used it freely for the Asiatic Cholera, in 18jy, and with better success than auy other medieinrt; 1 also used it here for cholera in 1855, with the same good result. Truly, ywtrs; A. HUNTING, JI. D. Swato, China." Cliolcia J " * * I regret to say that the cholera has prevailed here of late to a fearful extent. For the last three weeks, from teu to fifty or sixty fatjd mses each day has been re ported. I should add that the I‘aia Killer, sent reciiily from tlie Mission House, lias been used With considerable success during Uiis epsleuiic. If taken in season is generally efleetuai jn check ing the disease. K Rev. CHARLES HAKDINIG. Shblapore, India [From the Portland Monthly.] Summer Complaint and Dysentery- Bowel complaints seem just now- to be the prevailing clement, and any medicine that is everywhere acceptable, and that is rulialde, Isa very desirable acquisition. From what we have seen, heard, and experienced, we believe Davis' Pain Killer is this desideratum. For the best method of using it, we quote from the directions: "For common bowdl cotnplamU, give one tea suoontul irvagih of i»w milk Mid molmtses, in equal parrs, stirred well .together; lessen the dose tor ehiMVeh. according to the age. If the pnin be sever*, bathe the bowels and Imck with the medi cine. Tine mode of treatment is good hi eases of tbechelert laortms. soAlen stoppages, etc. Be pent the dose every hew, - « "The qiisckwt way I ever sgw the dysentery oared was by taking one epovafal of the Pain Kaller in one gill ot milk nod molasses stirred weft together mid drank Hot. at thy same tima bathing the bowels freely with medicine. > Let the doee be repeated 'vy«y hour until tlie pafieot Is relieved." . If every person who has reason to fear this disease would provide thmuselvee with a bottle «f this medicine, and rise as orrasion required, we believe a great amount of suffering and sickness - would be saved. jel2— 2m Richmond, County.
