Missionary in China, now visiting hie home iu Pouusylvaum: Washington. Pa , Juue25,1866. Messrs. Perry Davis A Son, Providence, R. I.:' Dear Sire—During a residence of some ten years as a Missionary in Siam and China, I fonnd your vegetable Pain Killer a most valuable remedy, for that fearful scourge, the Cholera. In administering the lueiiiciue, I found it moat effectual to give a teaepoonfut of Pain Killer iu a gill of hot water sweetened with sugar; then, after about tHtceu minutes. begin to give a table spoonful oi the same mixture every minute until relief was obtained, Apply hot applications to the extremities. Bathe tlie stomach with Pain Killer, clear and rub tlie limbs briskly. Ot those who had the cholera, and took the medicine faith fully in the way stated above, eight out of ten recovered. Yours, tiuln R TELFORD. If an attack with Diarrhoea, Dysentery. or Cramp Colic, don’t delay the use of the’ Pain Killer. Sold by all medicine dealers Price, 25 cents, 50 cents, and SI per Lot lie. Manhattaß, Kansas, ApriLl7,lß66. (jenllcincn— * * ~ I want to say a little more about the Pain Killer. I consider it a very valmible medicine, and always keen it on hand. I have travelled a good deal since I Lave been in Kansas, and never without taking it with me. In my practice I used it freely ior the Asiatic Cholera, in 1849, aud with better success than any other medicine ; I tdso used it hero for cholera iu 1855, with tho same good result. Truly, yours, A. HUNTING. M. 1). Swato, China. Cholera I * * * I regret to say that the cholera has prevailed here of late to a fearful extent. For the last three weeks, from ten to fifty or sixty fatal eases etu-h day has been re ported. 1 should add that the Pain Killer, sent recently from the Mission House, has been used With considerable success during this epidemic. If taken in settson is generally eliectual in cheek ing the disease. Rev. CHARLES lIARDINIG. , • Sholapore, India. ’ / [From the Portland Monthly.! Summer Complaint and Dysentery. Howrd complaints seem just now to be Uie prevailing element, and any medicine that tb’ everywhere acceptable, and that is reliable, is a very desirable acquisition. From what we have seen, heard, aud experienced, we believe Davis' Pain Killer is this desiderawfin. For the best method of using it, we quote from the directions: “For common bowel complnima, give one tea spoouhil iu a gill of new milk und molasses, in -equal parts, stirred well together; lessen the dose lor children, according to the age. If the pain lie severe, bathe the bowels and back with tlie medi cine. Thia mode of treatment is good in cases of the cholera morbus, sudden stoppages, etc. Re peat tire dose every hour. “The quickest way I ever saw the dysentery cared was by taking one spoonful of the Pain Killer ii> one gill of milk and molasses stirred well together aud drank hot, at the same rime bathing the bowels freely with medicine. Let the dose lg repeated every hour until the patient is relievea?’ If every person who lias reason to fear this disease would provide themselves With a bottle of this medicine, and use as Occasion required, we believe a great amount of suffering and sickness would be saved. jeli—‘Jar Special Notice.
