LARGEST C1B( I LATfOX.
THURSDAY MORNING March-15, 18*#
The Farmer’s BAROMKrEB.-i-Take a
common* glass pickle bottle, wide*
mouthed ; fill it within three inches of
the top with water ; then take a com
mon Florence oil cask, removing the
straw covering, and, cleansing the flask
thoroughly, plunge * neck of the
flask as far as it will go, and the barom
eter is complete. In fine weather the
water will rise Into the neck of Aie flask
even higher than the mouth of the pickle
bottle, and in wet, windy weather, it will
fall to within one inch of the mouth of
the flask. Before a heavy gale of wind,
the water has been seen to leave th
flask altogether at least eight hours
before the gale came to its height. Ihe
invention was made by a German, and
communicated to a_London_ga|>er^^^

TO THE PLASTERS
OF GEORGIA AND
SOUTH CAROLINA.
I have now on hand and for sale, a large
number of MULES and HORSES,generally
from three to five years old, of the best
growth of the Western country—such as
are especially adapted to the business wants
of the community—and have arrangements
on hand which will enable me to supply a
very large demand duriug the winter and
spring. Myself a native of Kentucky, and
having formerly had an extensive connec
tion with this class of business, together
with the iaot that I am now permanently
located in Augusta, I Hatter myself that my
facilities are unsurpassed for supplying this
market at the lowest possible rates consis
tent with a sound business. Purchasers are,
therefore, invited to call and examine my
stock, or send in their orders for any num
ber or any class of either Mules or Horses
at market prices.
