Cotton —For the past few weeks the Cotton Market has had a declining tendency, occasionally rallying to a small advance, oidy to be met by a further decline next dav. Confidence in the staple has lost such ground that the speculative demand lias fallen off very materially. The manufacturers having in a great measure supplied themselves lor the manufacture of Spring stock, there is but little demand, except for foreign shipment. Advices from Liverpool, to Bth instant, quote Middling 18d ; from New York, to 20th inst, quote Middling, 89 to4o cents. Augusta (Ga.) Market, of 22d instant, quote Middling 30 to 82 cents. We are pleased to notice by New York advices, of 22d inst., the arrival of steamer Aus tralasian, with Liverpool dates of 10th instant, a very material advance, quoting Middling Cotton 19 to 19£d,and sales in New York on same date of 5,000 hales, with au excited market, at 41c. Wecan not venture any remarks as to a continual advance in prices, but have great reason to believe th it. the present prices will he maintained, and that next steamer’s ad vices will give us favorable accounts.
