Good. —The Southern Express Com pany favored us, on yesterday a/ternoon, with New Y ork papers of the 3d, Peters burg of the 4th, and Charleston el* the 6th instant. —A new method of shoeing horses has been on trial in Paris for a j'ear or more past. Ry it the hoof is but n#little cut away, the shoe is light, the hoof rests upon the ground, and is allowed to ex pand naturally, while tie horse never slips. It has been tried successfully for some months on the orinibus horses. —A gentleman of Washington, hav ing occasion to pass through Arlington at dusk, recently, ssw a lonely figure standing with folded arms at the foot of a tree. Struck with the sorrowful atti tude of the person, he walked past him, and saw that it was Robert E.
