Seen is Life. —Brigadier General Edward Peterson, who has lately filled the office of Town Marshal of Newberry, S. C., has been superseded. The New berry Herald thus notices his retire ment: “The community will be grati fied to learn that the Generals retires gracefully, and yielding to earnest so licitation will not suffer his talents or abilities to rust in inactivity. The ex ample of many illustrious Confederates, Lee, Johtisou, Beauregard, and others will be followed, who have each turned their attention to useful and lucrative pursuits.
