These appointments are excellent, and this noble charity will continue to flourish under their careful in;ui;is-cment as it has done under that of their predecessors. TilK Irish Pkoplk.— This is the title of a journal published in New York City, by 0 Sullivan, Mcltride A Cos., and is an advo cate of those whose name it bears. It is an able aud interesting sheet, and wo commend it to the patronage of our Irish friends. Quinn Bros, have it for sale. The greatest slaughter house in the world is at Monteveido. A thousand cattle are killed before breakfast, and it furnishes most of the jerked beef that is used. Won der if they eat them all for breakfast ? The Huberts Fenians have issued a stirring appeal to the Fenian Sisterhood aud “Sympathisers” with the cause, to con tribute lint, bandages, medicines, etc., to the Irish “Sanitary Commission” as speedily as possible. “Clear the track.” The spicy local of the Norfolk I7r qiuian thus chronicles the proceedings of the Portsmouth Mayor’s Court: 3/ayor’# Court, Portwnouthf April 27.
