Supposed to be an editor’s child. —The Winstead Herald publishes the following' notice: “Anonymous com munications solicited—they are first rate to kindle fire with.” The same here. —A division of Oregon is agitated, which w ill give that State all west of the Cascade Mountains, and lying between California and British Columbia, and form anew State or Territory east of the Cascades, out of the territory which would be detached by the Cascade line from Oregon and Washington. —The Hartford Courant tells of an enamored man who took a young widow on a sleigh ride, proposed to her, and was accepted, after which he was so elated that he “wished some one would ask him for a loan of a few hundred dollars, without security,” and that he “never was so happy in his life.” —Tiie Atlanta (Georgia) Messenger gives the following odd notice of a de ceased citizen of that place“He was the father of eleven sons, five of whom married five sisters. He had one hun dred and eighty nine grand children, arid at his funeral two weeks ago last Sabbath, two horses were stung to death by bees, and came very near losing his life by the same.” —A benevolent lady went to visit a fam ily who were said to be almost starving She found them half clad, cold, and not a morsel of food in the house. “What do you most need? What would you like to have ?” she asked of the mother of the family.
