<EI)t Bail)) JP r ®-_ LARGE STCI TYj CIKCILA TION. 6 UNDAY MORNING -. May ». IB P* [From the Louisville Courier. The Tribute of Flower*. [Dedicated to the lldie. MSiated in decorating with flowers the gravea of the Confederate dead.] Ah far away under Southern skies, Where war scarr’d mountains loftily rise, Girdled with evergreen?, mantled in mist Haunts whero our heroes with glory kept tryat, Where broad branching woodlauda mourn fully wave O’er landmarks of battle, there s a love ballowed grave — Aye, many enshrined in the heart’s warm applause — Ours, a9 offerings unto the “Lost Cause." Hut this precious one, near the aspen alone, In the edge of the wood, is mine—aye, mine own ! I've never seen it, but comrades tell llow they buried him there whero he bravely fell; Shroudless, coffinless, crimsonod and gory, And carved on the aspen his brief, sad story: I’ve never seen it, save in my dreani9 ; Where, night after night, it bitterly seems Dreary, neglected, forgotten, alone. With rank dark woods and bramble’s o'ergrown ; Tangling wild vines and mouldering leaves Rioting over him as they please. No fond, loving hand, with heart prompted care, To train the white rose and bright myrtle there. But women throughout the sunny South clime, Tested with sorrows and sufferings sublime, Mourning for dear ones, martyred in vain, Are woven together in sympathy’s chain— .Magnetical chain—heart touching heart, Throb answering thrufc. till all bosoms start. They felt iny heart when it yearned and cried O'er that unmarked grave on the mountain side; They felt— and lo !on this hallow’d day, A sweet response tribute they pay, Again in my dreams, through a mist of tears And sweet sad pleasure that grave appears! But now, bright wreaths of early spring flowers, Symbols so pure, of his bright young hours. And evergreens, types of the fadeless love, Cherished for him they are braided above, Are lovingly scattered in freshness there— Tributes of honor, affection and'eare ! God bless tho gentle spirits refined, Who met my ycarniugs—sweetly divined My unworded wishes, and meekly gave All in their gift—flowers for his grave! God bless the fingers, tenderly fuir, That called and twined every chuplet there : May they pluck life's brightest flowers re vealed, Nor feel the piercing of thorns concealed. *Tb a little thiug, this tribute of flowers, But it freshens my heart, like May-day showers. Roofing. LOOK TO YOUR ROOFS. HAVING SECURED THE STATE * RIGHT OF THE PATENT MICA ROOFING, Wo are pow prepared to supply it in any quantity, or to apply it to Roofs. The MICA ROOFING is adapted to build ings of every description, and can be ap plied to Steep or Flat Roofs, or over old Shingle Roofs, without removing the shin gles. We recommend its use on Factories, Foundries, Store Houses, Cotton Sheds, Railroad Depots and upon all buildings where steam is used, and a Fire Proof re quired. It costs about one-half tho prico of Tin. It is chcnp, durable, and is easily and quickly applied. Tho upper surface of the Roofing is protected from the action of the weather, by its covering of Ground Mica, which is pressed into the water proof com position, making a hard surface of stoue, beautiful iu npppnmnpp, and a BUM protoo tion against fire. We shall also keep constantly on hand a supply of INDIA-RUBBER ROOFING PAINT, which is the best coating that can be used for Tin lioofiug. Leaky Tin Roofs can be readily repaired, so as to last mauy years, at a trifling cost, which would in many cases save the expense of anew Roof. Full directions for applying, and prices, sent on application. COUNTY RIGHTS FOR SALE.
