to sustain tho former usefulness of this
Journal as a medium for the communica
tion of tho discoveries and advancing doc
trines of \icnco-and of all the departments
of Medicine, and of the facts and discove
ries tending to develop the material pros
perity of the South, and especially ol the
valuable Medical statistics and obSer vat ions
of the recent disastrous revolution.
